Lovely images everyone. Had a morsel of time so decided to chip in.

I had an attempt at re-shaping a Daz model to look similar to Johann.

A good test for the psychologist.

Great work from everyone this week. More great work from Mariner. David clever idea about the playing card, and Anna your static image is very good

No ANIMATION this week.

Re: Challenge 859: Johann Friedrich the Magnanimous
First to upgrade Johann Friedrich this week was lwc, with a splendid Alfred E Newman (you have to be familiar with 1960s era MAD magazine to get this). The cockroach is a particularly fine touch. The 15-year-old Johann in the second entry is a great fit; perhaps his chin could have widened somewhat by this age? A great family scene in the third entry, with the faces neatly grafted onto the new bodies. Might I suggest that this painting features Johann with two brothers and one sister? The one with the apple is dressed the same as the one on the far right. I was amused by the squirrel in the fourth entry - and of course, the paws are the best bit.

I enjoyed DavidMac's playing card, with its neatly wrought mirror image. It’s the diagonal join that really makes this work - plus the newly-inserted sceptre, of course. A whole host of costumed Johanns in the second entry, perfectly integrated into each character. Is there a name for these books? Very much part of my childhood but you don’t see them any more.

An extraordinary vision of Johann in contemporary clothes by tooquilos, the face perfectly blended into the body - and with a good texture on the body too. An amazing photo album in the animated version, showing Johann ageing. I particularly liked the last one, with the beard. Really great work. And nicely sneaked into the back row in the second entry! I, too, searched for Anna in this image, until I noticed the date - 1971. Anna would have left primary school some years earlier.

A fun animation from GKB, with much slurping and chomping - although I notice that neither the ice cream nor the pizza get any smaller. Is that what they mean by the eyes following you around the room? I do like the bubblegum ending. An interesting second entry, with Johann standing in for Venus. Perhaps the face should be a touch smaller? Or the hair moved up somewhat?

Beautiful work from Josephine Harvatt, with immaculate placement of the face on its new body. The decoration on the cheek really helps it to blend in with the clothing. Now that’s how five year olds should dress.

Immaculate but deeply creepy work from Mariner, with Johann all grown up and finding his/her true identity. Her appearance in the second entry is a remarkable reworking of American Gothic. Really touching, in its way. Just a couple of points: if you’re going to tilt the boy’s face, you really should tilt the head as well; and watch those colours! The shirt is much too saturated.

An entertaining animation from Frank, with some intricate curtain action. The new clothing works really well, and I’m always a sucker for animated eyes. Very cute.

Ingenious work from dwindt, with a remodelled Johann - and yes, you’ve captured his essence perfectly. An extraordinary second entry with bizarre goings-on. I really like the composition, although I am confused by the lamp which doesn’t seem to be emitting any light.

I like michael sinclair’s portrait, with Johann’s face on the woman’s head. I can’t help thinking it would have been more convincing if we hadn’t seen the original image, though, which seems to draw attention to the slight oddities in your version - the placement and size of the eyes, for instance. The reshaped jaw is very neatly achieved.

I thought there was something odd about it!

Oh dear, you have got me again on the over-saturation, Steve. Sorry!

Thanks, Steve, fun job.

I had fun this week. Entertaining without being too challenging. That's nice sometimes.

I always knew them as "Heads, Bodies and Legs.". I don't know if there is an official name. While writing this reply I did a quick google out of curiosity and haven't come up with anything else.

Thank you Steve

I am so pleased you were distracted by scanning the image and missed the spelling error, which I noticed soon after I posted.
