Re: Challenge 937: Groovy underground

but the train is still in the museum.

True, so are most of the dudes from the 70's.

Thanks Steve. The image loose a lot when reduced in size though. The atmospheric perspective in the original increases with distance. David did an image at Graphics.com where he created a 5% fill layer and over-layed it in front of every item in the image he created, starting from the farthest item in the image. It created wonderful depth.

Nice images everybody.

More smog needed? I’m not sure about Michael Sinclair’s comment that led to the though: the man’s striped trousers are no brighter than the white shirts in front of them.

Not sure about smog. could get a bit OTT?

Yes to your comment on the man's trousers, but somehow he did nonetheless seem much more present than everyone else.

I couldn’t identify DavidMac’s mystery station, with its curious arched roof. But I know it wasn’t Michael Sinclair’s St Pancras.

Baker Street. One of the oldest stations from the original Metropolitan Railway which later became the Metropolitan line.

Tried a little atmospheric perspective with this one. A trick David taught us many years ago. I wonder if he can remember?

A white gradient overlay is something I often use to progressively desaturate with distance. Is that it?

I do the same thing with overlay clouds sometimes. That's how I created the smog for this challenge.

That's it. Gives your image lovely depth. So, thanks for that trick, David!
