Re: Challenge 956: The cruel sea
David I really like your night time scene with its shadows and highlights and reflections. It's the exact opposite of stormy, but who cares? |

Thanks Michael. I like it too despite it's well documented shortcomings. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Re: Challenge 956: The cruel sea
This is one of those self imposed technical exercises I set myself sometimes when I can't think of anything better to do. Been fiddling with it forever trying to get it right and I can't pretend it's as successful as I would have liked ............. but it's well up to presentation. ![]() _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Again, very inventive David, but what I want to know is how did you get the boat through the narrow bottleneck? ![]() |

Re: Challenge 956: The cruel sea
David. I started doing a ship in a bottle but got distracted with a storm in a teacup. When I saw your entry I decided not to continue with mine. http://vimeo.com/manage/videos/829374464 ![]() _________________ Whatever you do in life do it with the enthusiasm of a 4-year old in a Batman suit. |

Re: Challenge 956: The cruel sea
Sorry to have discouraged you. If its any consolation it was bloody hard. I think " Storm in a tea cup." must relate to England's obsession with a good 'cuppa'. Here its "Une tempête dans un verre d’eau.". ![]() _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Re: Challenge 956: The cruel sea
Thanks David. For your own ship-in-a-bottle try a brighter more interesting background. That should bring it to life. Try putting it on a shelf in a room. _________________ ![]() |

Re: Challenge 956: The cruel sea
To be honest the interest for me was creating the glassware rather than the image as a whole. The glass is to a large extent a product of what is behind it. If I changed the background to light then the glass would start to become dark in front of light instead of the present light in front of dark and the entire bottle would have to be rebuilt. It's much harder than it looks so I'm settling for what I have! _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |
