Oh Michael that's not what I meant at all. 
I haven't attempted to touch your image, I simply meant that the reflection I have indicated here is in blue paint and would therefore be tinted blue. The idea that the blue would reflect back onto the surrounding chrome tube is a degree of subtlety that never occurred to me! You're way ahead of me there! Although I think it would probably only reflect on the inner portion and top of the tube. Note to self: 'Don't try to be too clever David'.

Hi Michael. What a Pandora's box I have opened! Yes it's much closer to what I meant. It is clear that I haven't expressed myself very clearly. These things are so difficult to put into words. What started as a tiny comment is now growing disproportionally! 
I really don't like re-posting other people's work with my own suggestions but, in this case, it was such a tiny subtle difference that an image seems the best way to explain what was troubling me. I haven't really done it that well myself but I think it should look something like below. Sorry Michael this was never meant go beyond a passing comment but your work is so accomplished and this was such an impeccable image that tiny details leap out. My apologies. In any event it's just an opinion on my part and Steve may well disagree.

First to disassemble the sidecar this week was DavidMac, with a rather fine helicopter device. I’d suggest adding a tail rotor to stop it spinning wildly, but those attached rockets seem like a good idea. What’s the pilot wearing? An interesting AI entry – this would certainly have been a lot of work to build any hand. Curiously, though, it couldn’t actually function as a sidecar, since there appears to be no way to get your legs inside. I see the Prickwillow name was too irresistible, but you have made a very fine job of it. A fine setting from Ben Boardman – the dog marking the wheel is a nice touch (as are the goggles on the dog in the sidecar). I was going to point out the circular sign issue, but I see you’ve already fixed that. I had some trouble making sense of the second entry, which appears to be a hover bike leaping through… chocolate? A fun assembly of parts – the skirt fits particularly well. Ah – zoomed in, and now I can see what it is. I think I was more comfortable with chocolate. A great use of the ex-royals from lwc, with a particularly fine pose for Meghan. Harry’s body seems a little, er, out of position. I enjoyed the hovering entry, with its wobbling and smoke. Didn’t recognise Barf, but he does look like he’s about to. The mudskipper entry is fun, although I’m startled by how quickly the planet is rotating. Good to see Rags making an appearance in GKB's aeronautical entry. A perfect fit for the body – did you pose for that? A splendid conversion altogether. G-Woof, indeed. A futuristic entry from tooquilos, with the sidecar being chased by a wheelless car. Driven by a robot? The animated version is glorious – love those zooming reflections! Gorgeous. A beefed-up military quad bike from michael sinclair, and I have to admit that does look like a lot of fun. Not sure two frames is enough to get the sense of rotating wheels, though. I like my adding head. I enjoyed Frank's take on the flying car issue – that subtle propeller really makes it. What is it with sidecars and dogs, though? If you want painstaking attention to detail, Mariner always steps up. The cutout alone on this job is fantastic, and the new colour scheme works beautifully. A finely wrought shadow, too. I’m not entirely convinced David is right about the reflection of the chrome tube: I think it has enough blue tint to make sense (although I think you misinterpreted his comment). Your final entry does indeed tint the reflection of the chrome bar, which I think is all David was after. But the shape of the reflection no longer takes note of the curve of the surface in which it’s reflected; and I don’t think the point was to tint the chrome bar itself, just the reflection. David, what have you done! A piece of television history from Ant Snell, who clearly remembers that Olive did, indeed, ride in a sidecar. As David points out, this will be incomprehensible to anyone who didn’t live in the UK in the 1970s. It would take too long to explain the characters in On The Buses; but those of us who remember them might be interested to learn that Reg Varney was the first person in the UK to use a cash point machine. |

Oh Steve! You missed it completely. It's not a helicopter its an autogyro and they have no tail rotor instead they have a pusher propeller at the rear. The back half of my hybrid is not just any autogyro it's a Wallis autogyro. The very same Wallis autogyro that James Bond flew in the 1967 movie "You Only Live Twice" under the name of "Little Nellie." If you enlarge the image you will see that it is indeed Sean Connery piloting it. Hence the odd 60's helmet and the rockets.
