Re: Challenge 996: Aerated Waters
First to aerate the waters this week was lwc, with an aged photograph of Mr Green at work. A very appropriate body for him, and I like the bottle on the table, especially when we can read it in the zoom entry. Has his head been compressed vertically?

Mr Green wearing what I hope is a brown lab coat in DavidMac's entry, as well as a sweater he would no doubt think of as racy. Is the Ealing comedy you’re thinking of The Man in the White Suit? That’s the only one with that plink plonk noise that I can think of, although I can’t find the reference in your image.

Aerated waters indeed from tooquilos – and one wonders if Mr Green is aerating those waters personally, or if he’s resorting to bubble bath. Love the shower cap. Ah – I see the animated entry has the answer. Brilliant. And an appropriate choice of music!

GKB has got all fizzed up over this week’s image, with Mr Green proudly commending his own product. Not sure bout the typography, but I appreciate the fact that its two-colour. I like the exuberance of the second entry, with the ginger beer bottle artfully integrated into the water. That must have been tricky.

I see Mr Green aerating his water by mouth in Ant Snell’s entertaining entry – although he could, of course, be inhaling the bubbling liquid for recreational purposes. I like the fact that you’ve used his original body: those creases can hide a multitude of joins.

I really enjoyed Ben Boardman’s entry, with Green reflected in his own bubbling flask. I spent some time trying to work out if the fingers could be reflected/refracted like that, then gave up. It’s beautifully done. I think the sepia version loses some of its power, though.

An aerated James Green from michael sinclair, and a very entertaining one it is too. Delighted to see you’re starting on After Effects, Michael. You’ll find it extraordinarily capable, but with a strong tendency to hide its effects from you. Best of luck with the journey.

A reconstructed Green from Mariner, artfully built from the original image but with many added features. I like the fizzing brandy glass, with its refraction (although a touch of the Spherize filter would have helped with that, seeing as the glass is a curved object). An artfully made shirt, but you’ve set yourself a hell of a problem with those stripes. Stick to polka dots!

Thanks Steve. Affinity Photo does have a spherize filter but I didn't know that until just now, and have obviously never used it. There are so many bells and whistles in Affinity which I have never even looked at. Too lazy! It was great fun. Bring on the next! Hope you are making a good recovery.

The entire image (including the bizarre wardrobe) is the reference. It's lifted straight from the film with Mr Green replacing Alec Guinness.

Thanks Steve. Really out of ideas on this one. Let's see what's coming next .........

Yes, if you can balance the reflector in one hand, phone camera in the other
