For full power, both at once David. I grew tired of this one. Just another museum exhibit. I have decided to bite the bullet and have opened an account with media.io. It's already given me a very good likeness of a younger Steve. I will see what I can do with it. |

Just took a look. Seems you are jumping in the deep end! I know Wondershare. I have never used their AI but I have used their video converter for years. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

So, it's sink or swim. If I don't like it I might take a look at Wondershare. |

What you have is from Wondershare. (See top left of screenshot) They do various different apps, (including the video converter I use) and are a solid reputable company. ![]() _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Wash and Blow
“Wash and Blow” is the fictional name of a women’s hairdressing salon seen in the very popular comedy series “Mrs Brown’s Boys”, the repeats of which are still running, years after the show closed down, on BBC iPlayer in the UK. For more information see Wikipedia. As I do not have the painting skills needed to make Steve’s face look younger I used AI from the website media.io to do the job for me. I was impressed. ![]() |

Now THAT is ingenious!! I really like it. The ageing looks very plausible. But I'm not sure you should give any more work to the builder who fixed it to the wall so crooked ................. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Thanks David. I suspect that the opposite of "aging" is "rejuvenating", not that it matters. |

Re: Challenge 1101: The pedoscope
First to use the X Ray machine this week was lwc, with an entertaining depiction of radioactive mutation. I like the three nostrils. Subtly done: you haven’t just mirrored the face. I was startled by DavidMac's entry, which looks surprisingly like me – complete with the Clark’s sandals and, of course, the snake belt. An expertly matched room, with perfect perspectives; only the floor shadows are a little extreme. Nicely done. The AI me is remarkable. Along with Mariner, I like “I use it all the time to do the washing up but I don't let it cook”. The What the Butler Saw machine is truly splendid, with perfect repurposing of the row of pedoscopes. Truly ingenious. Much as the young Steve would have loved to try a chariot race, I think even at that tender age I’d have had the wit to face the right way. And perhaps to hold the reins. A charming sepia-tinted scene from Vibeke, set in a vintage shoe shop (great retro cash register). Nearly all AI, though? Could that explain why the children are too small for the room? I like the platform you’ve built behind the pedoscope. I like the dazzling X Ray glow in Frank's entry, and the startled look on the face of the boy with his head in the machine is perfect. And – yes, that does look more or less like a younger me, although the bracelet should of course be a Timex watch. It is odd seeing these young versions of myself. Those outside the OK might have trouble recognising all the miscreants in Ant Snell’s entry, but for the sake of decorum I’m not going to name them all. Suffice to say none of them are likely to be presenting TV shows any time soon. Very nicely done, the extreme perspective of the room matching the machine – and a great gag. I like the new avatar, too. I like the strong face glow in Mariner's entry – see, there are times when you can use bright purple! The trolley bed makes a perfect addition. A good stab at the perspective, but I think the angle of the floorboards (and so also the door) needs a bit of a rethink. It’s a tricky one. Quick question: why the open field, rather than, say, a high street? Or even the interior of a shoe shop? The hair dryer is an extraordinary leap of imagination, and in particular I like the detail of the rusty bracket holding it to the wall. And yes, that does look a lot like the younger me. Again, though, the background: surely the vertical in those tiles should match the side of the machine? Now this is interesting: a completely rotated view of the pedoscope from tooquilos, now moved to a casino. Gosh. Rotate Object tool? Love the lights, the gushing coins and the one arm bandit handle on the side. Shouldn’t there be a pink-haired woman with a bucket of dimes in front of it? Love the spinning dials and flickering lights in the animated version. Nicely done. |

Re: Challenge 1101: The pedoscope
Thank you Steve.
Steve, I was struggling with this one. The photo of the shed I found on the net needed to be cut into pieces to rearrange perspective and one of the pieces was a view of the field, so I just added it in. Anyway, it's what you would expect to see through a shed door, and no way was I going to use a shoe shop.
The verticall lines need to point to a horizon, so I added a horizon. I just made it too close. Vertical parallel lines would have been better, but I didn't notice that until you mentioned it. |

Re: Challenge 1101: The pedoscope
I was startled by it too, although I have no way of knowing if it really resembles the young Steve. I wasn't sure if the sandals and belt were still around in your day .... seems they were. They are so quintessentially British!
The resemblance to the old Mutoscope was inescapable. It was the first thing that struck me.
You are a very young male adolescent Steve ........ Posing for the camera waving your sword with a bit of backward facing 'no hands' dare devilry is far more important than boring practical considerations! I really had fun with this one. Thanks! _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

I tried to give it a little extra and get rid of the obviously mirrored look... thanks Steve! |
