I am only playing David. Don't take me so seriously.

I am not taking you seriously .... just wondering what you are playing at. Normally your images have a coherent thread but this one eludes me.
I think you might have solved my problem with flickr: you have not used the img suffix which I have been using for centuries. You have used url. I shall try out your idea right now.

YES! The problem has gone away. At least for now. Thanks, David.

Glad to hear it. It hasn't gone away for me. Posting embedded images is till completely hit and miss. I am not even sure if the problem is flickr it seems to change according to which browser I post with. It's really irritating!

Same here Loyd. Completely erratic with no discernible logic or reason.

David, it was difficult to find a theme for this FC. Most of the ideas had been taken by others and I was racking my brains for something novel. I dug up previous exhibitions but they were aways shot from the wrong angle. I worked on creating an ice rink for some time but the characters were too far distant to be interesting, and a matching ice skater in a chair looked unconvincing. Finally with sinking heart I settled for a football pitch and had to improvise the rest. However it was all good fun and kept me amused for many hours.

I don't know Loyd. I expect it's the Russians tampering.

To all flickr.com users

You can check the Flickr errors page on status.flickr.net

I just did that but I saw no problems.

My Windows 11 PC has had a little trouble with flickr for about four weeks now. I upload an FC image most Thusdays. The image is between 6 Mb and 10 Mb in size. Flickr provides me with a link. After I post the link on the FC I refresh the screen and check that the image appears. One abnormality in the last four weeks: the image downloads to the FC screen very slowly, taking about ten seconds to finish. It used to be a lot quicker than that.
I wonder if anyone else has this "problem".
Today, at first, it wouldn't download at all. It just posted a link to an error message.
The problem may be with me, or with HTCIPS, but I think it's Flickr that's at fault.
We shall see.

2001 I walk into Woody's Bar in Santa Barbara where I was training on digital printers at ZBE. Behold an Aussie Dunny phone box in the bar. Photo show me ringing wife Jane back in Australia. Then we watched the LA Lakers win the 2001 title.

Re: Challenge 1125: Dial a nook
First to call the nook this week was Ben Boardman, with a terrific view of the comic convention on the lower floor. The chap on the phone does look a lot like a certain Ben Boardman. What’s with the belly dancers, though? And how did the tiny Dalek get up the stairs? The Dial-a-nookie image is fun, with its bordello carpet and wallpaper – and the glimpse of the Fetish show beneath. I don’t think curtains bend like that, though. That’s a very makeshift phone box in Woody’s Bar!

I like lwc's Superman bursting out of the phone box – but with no door it wouldn’t provide much in the way of privacy for getting changed in. Luckily, there’s nobody around to see the transformation. Good to see Zoltar making a return appearance in the Challenge, clearly entertaining his crowd of two. the wavering hand and lights in the animated version work well. The Love Nook is fun, despite the transparent privacy curtain; even when animated it doesn’t leave much to the imagination. I like the animated kangaroo. And of course there are Minions!

Perfect perspective matching from GKB, with the Fat Controller (and his named booth) overseeing the railway yard. The smoke is particularly effective.

Not a dull image at all, DavidMac – the guardsman fits perfectly in the box, and the marching band fills the lower floor very well. That is, however, and extremely tiny child. Such a shame the marching band doesn’t have an audience to appreciate them. The boxing kangaroo image is truly bizarre, but the lighting on the boxing ring is truly spectacular. There is a tiny perspective issue with the reflection of the railing, though: surely the top is exactly horizontal? Good to see Fred Morley hard at work.

Outstanding work from dwindt, with a perfect phone box (complete with reflection) and an utterly convincing view of the track and platform beneath. You’re right, this exhibition hall does look very much like a train station.

A charming proposal from Mariner, with an especially fine set of railings extended behind the booth. A couple of questions: why is she sitting so far forward that she’s perched right on the edge of the seat? And why is someone mowing what’s obviously an artificial pitch?

Perfect perspective matching from everyone. Well done.

She is trying to get closer to him!
That grass is real, Steve, I copied it from a golf course photo.

They have a tendency to show up when I can't think of anything else.

Thanks Steve, a fun challenge.

He's Chinese. They're small. ............ No, you are quite right he is too small. Never spotted it. Scaling people badly is becoming a bit of a consistent fault with me. Must be old age.

I completely missed the lighting possibility first time round but it was quick and easy to add.

The rail gave me no end of trouble. I set out expecting it to be completely simple and ended up in one of those freehand distortions where every time you move one corner the rest deforms and so on and so on with each correction introducing a new distortion somewhere else. In the end I should have started over another way but I settled for second best (knowing full well you would pick up on it).

Good to see Fred Morley hard at work.

Pure serendipity that having discovered and used the purportedly true story of Aussie that I should stumble, by pure chance, somewhere else entirely, on a photograph of him providing tangible proof.

This proved to be much more difficult and fun than I expected. Perspective match got quite tricky and I was impressed how well everyone handled it.
