Had a busy week. Sorry I couldn’t come out to play. This Challenge was one that was right up my street.

Nicely done everyone

Re: Challenge 1126: The Noddy car
First to race the car this week was Ben Boardman, really setting the bar high with a gloriously pimped vehicle. An outstanding image, from the chrome detailing to the long shadows… have to say, Ben, you’re really hitting the sweet spot these days. And great to see your shource material.

A couple of ex-royal occupants from lwc, with a chauffeur who looks startlingly familiar. Given the angle of view of the wheels, Meghan could really do with some feet. But I like the respray on the car. A truly terrifying clown car, but I like the way you’ve created the depth by having the crass scrolling at different speeds. Some movement needed in the rear corn? A fun crash scene, perhaps a little over-enthusiastic on the shadow? The repurposed 2020 image works really well. I like the car’s jiggle. Noddy Bond! Ha! But that’s a terrible thing to do to an Aston Martin.

A young David Mac from DavidMac – and are you telling us you really had one of those cars? But never that blue hat, I suspect. We’ve seen this image before on the Forum, and it’s always a favourite. Odd boxy shadow under the Noddy car, though. Ah… that's better. Love the stretch limo! Is that Jessica Rabbit in the back? And you’ve even got Parker at the wheel. A near-perfect image, David – you just need to rotate that rear spoiler about 5° clockwise.

I’m trying to work out if dwindt has cleaned up Noddy, or remodelled him… I suspect the former, but either way it’s nicely done. A very nicely replicated car, with great detailing – the wheel hubs, the lights on the bumper, the shape of the radiator, the headlights… top job. I like the sun flares. The dirtied version is absolutely glorious, with the rusted car and long-haired Noddy, but it’s Big Ears who really makes this one. Wow! And so interesting to see your starting image. The Toyland street is charming, with its cast of characters and splendid orange tree. Different times, indeed. To be honest, with so much going on in this image I hadn’t even noticed the rear window.

It’s good to see Vibeke back, but… all AI? There’s cheating, and there’s cheating! Interesting, though, to see what’s been spruced up and what’s been kept the same.

Terrific work this week from everyone.

No when I said "really" I was referring just to the image being really myself.

We’ve seen this image before on the Forum, and it’s always a favourite.

I used it a while back in another challenge and posted a video of the real event.

It is Jessica. Her presence is explained in the introductory line to the image.

Thank you for the compliment. Yes the spoiler is not quite right. The car was built 'off site' so to speak and then moved into the image. I did a tiny bit of tweaking to fit it but missed that.

I really enjoyed this one despite my loathing of Vegas. Thank you Steve for a fun kick off. I wonder why the French called him "Oui Oui"?

What a duffer I am! The moment I wrote that I suddenly realised that nodding is saying "Oui". Another of my slow days ..............

Thank you Steve. I was lucky to find that background on the Top Gear site. Again an enjoyable challenge,

I agree, but once I started it, I just couldn't stop.

Thanks Steve, was a fun one!
