Some great entries , nice work Mariner, love your witch Loyd. Not much time lately - hope it gets better - purchased a new Mac mini M6 as a lot of programs stopped working with old Mac fully or partially including PS.
Lots of headaches rebuilding everything - some older programs , plug-ins no longer work with Golden Gate.
Anyway managed to squeeze out a quick entry. Don't ask what it is cause I don't know.

Thanks, Loyd, and Frank.

That's an intriguing entry Frank.

Looking at these I am even more astonished at what you did. I suddenly realise that the biggest difficulty might been not so much texturing as de -texturing first.

Very nice Anna. Good to see you back!

Morocco and Greece, that's quite a contrast. Both fascinating.

But it's great!

The upgrade blues! Usually it's not the hardware update that's difficult it's the OS update that comes with it. Golden Gate is a big leap because it leaves so much intel software non functional.

Mariner. I know that bronzes exist of this piece as well as marble. Did you manage to find one as your basis or did you "bronze" it yourself.

Lovely work.

Re: Challenge 1127: Bartholdi's basket
First to pick up the basket this week was Ben Boardman, with a splendidly fish mermaid. Lifting the basket off its leafy plinth has meant changing the leg position of its carriers, beautifully achieved. Great shadows and retexturing, too. The reflection of the basket in the pool isn’t right, though: we should be looking at its underside from this position. Is that Hearst Castle as in Citizen Kane? The Wind in the WIllows monument is charming, recreating Ratty and Mole’s boating expedition – although their picnic does appear to be heavier on the booze than the sandwiches. Beautiful lighting, and using AI for the base is wholly appropriate.

A fun animation from lwc, although I have my doubts about the powdered Beaujolais. Looks like that woman’s enjoying her bathtime, but couldn’t she do with some soapy bubbles? Or even a splash of water? A very curious stately home postcard: much as I would enjoy a sculpture like that in my garden, I hope it would appeal to the house’s owners. Love that fish tank! Particularly how the fish almost entirely obscure the sculpture. And are you getting your Halloween entries in early this year?

Gloriously brought to life by dwindt, with a scene of classical debauchery and drunkenness. Is this all 3D modelled? Love those wine stains! Fascinating to read how detailed your AI prompt was, and how you really had to browbeat it into not making any changes to the content. The extended version is very appealing.

A bath delivery from DavidMac, which is a truly remarkable accomplishment for two one-legged delivery men. I like the gag, at least it didn’t involve Bernard Cribbins. As you say, AI background, but none the worse for that. The monument
entry is fun, and very Parisian. A curiously distorted rosette at the bottom.

A terrific gag from Ant Snell, and the perfect use for that basket. Very nicely put together, highly entertaining.

A mashup of Bertholdi’s greatest hits from GKB – I like how the basket has been scaled up to hold the head and torch, with the boat for scale.

An ornate fountain from tooquilos, with a surprisingly domestic tap pouring into the pool beneath. The pools works really well in the animated version, great rippling al round. Good to have you back, Anna.

I didn’t know what to expect from Mariner this week, but I certainly wasn’t prepared for this raunchy rebuild. Classical sculpture it ain’t – but it is beautifully crafted, and very nicely conceived. I particularly like the restrained colour palette.

Celestial inspiration has obviously touched Frank, with a beautiful ethereal image. So much going on here! The hands and flame work really well together. Not sure the vignette adds anything, though.

Many thanks, Gordon, for the starting image.

Thanks David. I found a bronze copy, which was very close in shape, made it look a bit smoother, then found two new men's bronze heads, tried to match their colour (very difficult) then made them fit on the bodies. All that took a lot of time and kept me busy.

Thank you Steve.

My workflow has become a real decoupage of techniques and tricks I've learnt over the years, so yes, there's 3D models, 2D images, hand painting and colour smearing; (I've grown to love the smudge brush and use it in almost all my images) and tons of constant tweaking.

One legged ..... Ha ha! I hadn't realised. How incredibly silly!

I am no great Cribbins fan, but the moment I saw Gordon's photo that silly song popped straight into my head. Now I'm having a hard time trying to get rid of it!

The monument entry is fun, and very Parisian. A curiously distorted rosette at the bottom.

Careless column stretching ...........

Thank you Steve. For some reason I found it hard to find good things to do with this image. So thank you Gordon for making the challenge more challenging. It's always good to be stretched a bit.

Thanks Steve, Mariner and David.
David, yes I have the upgrade blues - I even had to purchase a new Wacom and had to get a tech friend in to help as with the M6 Mac Mini my Modem settings had to be adjusted up - above my head. Still working on it and must catch up on all the PS updates . I need a drink I think!
