I feel a quiz coming on. Can you find all the Fairytale’s Fables and Nursery Rhymes embedded in this montage? Answers on Friday.

OK Ant …… I can’t quite believe you’ve got me doing this …….

I was raised on Arthur Rackam and the other classical fairy tale illustrators. I find these modern versions desperately lacking in mystery and fantasy.

Anyway ………. Here’s a few.

There was an Old Lady who Lived in a Shoe (Distant Rear right)

Little Red Riding Hood (In front of shoe)

Ride a Cock Horse to BanburyCross (Signpost)

Scarborough Fair (Old English ballad)

The Ugly duckling (Bot right)

The Cat and The Magical Fish (Not sure of real title. On pathway.)

Three little Pigs (Straw house in background)

Goldilocks and The three bears (In front of straw house)

This little piggy went to market (Piggy and market sign)

Hansel and Gretel (Gingerbread House)

Rapunzel (Bot right long hair)

Jack and The Beanstalk (BG centre)

Most of these were simple but I have no idea how many I may have missed of course.

One I didn’t know and had to look up was the wooden house on bird legs. Baba Yaga?

Not sure about the tower rear left unless it’s another Rapunzel reference.

But the one that’s really stumped me is the cow in a puddle of its own milk! I am just not getting there!

Am I going to kick myself when I discover?

¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤
Pretty damn good. All will be revealed on Friday unless you are losing sleep over it, then I could private message?

No I'll wait. Maybe something will pop up in the meantime.

Well that didn't help much. The original is 5k by 7k. I can't get it any better than that, sorry.

Little Red Ridinghood and wolf

The forest is my own photo,
The wolf and girl are stock photos.
AI used to open the door.
Harmonize used to bring everything together.

Lots of spectacular work from everyone.

I’m just sorry that, again, I don’t have the time to participate in my own Challenge.

I still haven't used AI myself, but this image probably is. I only added the house and tweaked the lighting a bit.

Little Red Riding Hood always thought it was uncool to wear a hood and cape in summer.

Re: Challenge 1129: Fairy Tale
A very Gen Z Red Anna. The fact that she has that crossbow cleverly brings the modern and traditional together. Now this very picky but, because she's very much the focus of attention, I'd have loved to have seen just a little twitch of something, however tiny, to make her non static.

BTW, do I just have a dirty mind or are those piggies making bacon?

Good! That's what I am aiming for. My modus operandi is to see what everyone else is doing and then try something completely different. In this one there is no dark forest, no snarling wolf, no grandmama, and no low-res girl.

Re: Challenge 1129: Fairy Tale
First to venture into the woods this week was Ben Boardman, With a rather gorgeous image that I see is inspired by Ferrier, but not directly using his work. Great angles on the interior of the cottage, and a splendid relocation. What’s Grandma looking up at, though? And I agree with you about LRRH not being able to recognise a wolf in drag! Yes, the sunbeams really add depth to the image. Great improvement. The trailer version is charting, and expertly put together. Was there much AI involved in this week’s entries? They look so polished.

A raunchy Red Riding Hood from dwindt, complete with basket of fruit. Again, a very fine interior of the cottage. A splendidly assembled tavern – is that the wolf she’s chomping through? Beautifully composed. But I can’t interpret the birdlike shape on the left. I enjoyed the toilet entry – and glad to see LRRH is taking advantage of the clement weather. The balloon entry is extraordinary. I like how you’ve added the thick glasses from the movie. So much detail here… not just all the balloons, but the angle of LLRH, her pose, and above all the roots and debris falling from the cottage… outstanding! An entertaining mashup of fairy tales in the shoe image. What fun.

Curses, lwc! Now the lumberjack song will be rattling round my head all day. That’s a very raunchy Red Riding Hood: is the lumberjack getting ready to wield his chopper? That’s a very small basket she’s carrying in the misty entry. Do women really stand like that? It looks very uncomfortable. I like the wolf in the window. The autumnal entry is charming, with a particularly menacing wolf. The falling leaves in the animated version only seem to be right in the foreground, though; more needed, smaller, further back. Curious sunbeams – just the two of them? A cunningly hidden wolf in this one. That roar is very odd. I like the added house.

I’m glad Frank has managed to get his new Mac up and running, and is playing with the new toys. I agree, AI will play a significant part in the very, very near future. But what it can’t do is the sort of storytelling you’ve woven into this image. Very nicely thought out; the only problem is the wolf is rather too high in the frame. Unless it’s an enormous wolf, of course.

A host of fairy tale characters from Ant Snell – I couldn’t name the girl on the far right, although her hair makes me think Rapunzel. Very entertaining, and nicely assembled. The cow is fun.

A two-framer from DavidMac, featuring an ingeniously disguised wolf that’s very nearly plausible. I like how you’ve managed to show the same scene from both sides, that must have taken a lot of working out. And reconstructing the geometry of the cottage from the inside looks like a lot of work. We need a 100% organic badge for this sort of entry!

Great relocation from Vibeke, really making that forest look sinister. LRRH perches very neatly on the bank. A very well opened door, revealing a convincing interior. Excellent work, Vibeke: the tone and consistency are absolutely right here. Harmonise really is worth it.

“Wolf Hall”! Of course! A great renaming from Mariner, with a wolf clearly tamed by LRRH’s charm. Intricate integration into the cornfield, which must have been tricky. I like the fact that we can see through the cottage to the skewed window on the far side. Just one thing: the girl is sitting rather too high, given the height of the corn.

A seriously tooled-up Red Riding Hood from tooquilos, who has seen fit to equip her with the most up to date wolf-hunting equipment. I see the wolf on the left, but can’t make out who’s inside the cottage. Obvious music choice in the animated version – ah, of course! It’s the three little pigs. Brilliant demolition. And am I mistaken in thinking those porkers are making bacon? Ah, I see David has the same idea (and indeed used the same phrase). Do tell.

Yes, a little mistake which I spotted, but didn't think anyone else would. Thanks, Steve.

Re: Challenge 1129: Fairy Tale
Thanks Steve.
It's a carcass roasting in front of the fire.
It was a bit quiet in the beginning of the week. Trying to keep everyone entertained, I went a little crazy. I don't even want to tally the hours spent...lol.
I even started a ai come Capcut spliced video clip together, trying to link 4 of my 5 images together. It's still rendering though, with 1 scene to go.

Thank you, Steve and David.

The poor little things are shivering with fear. Making bacon is the last thing on their minds!

Next time, I will increase the Wiggler frequency!
