David and Pauline I can understand about what both you are saying my wife doesn't like most of my artwork. But then there is the odd one that she just falls in love with. My 12 year old daughter is my biggest fan. She shows her art teacher and other teachers and they like what I do and ask her to bring me to school and give a few lessons.

Its nice to see we are all in the same boat , but we can encourage each other.

SnowDog, I was asked to come and teach at the public school too, but not even for my son's class. I've done far too many volunteer hours in the school and decided not to. (I know the teacher and he's have me in there all the time if he could!)

No worries Mike, Steve isn't handing out prizes this week. Just his wonderful critiques.

Thanks Alice. It was my original idea since pickles were the first thought that went into my head. Some times you have to go with it.

I love this week's challenge. And, I see, once again, I'm about as original as a Xerox copy.

But here's my entry: Introducing the Stratus-Gherkin.

Love that one, not to keen on rockets, but this is different.

Michael - Loved the Burkha if that is how you spell it!

Jefferson - Sorry I was working on my own shuttle image and didn't see yours until I posted mine. Great minds and all that!

No problem. I like yours better, especially the noise abatement sign. Very funny. Did you craft that sign together from something else?

The sign was all done in Photoshop. As Steve says I only have one piece of wood - a shot of my dining table. The frame was made from that and de-saturated to almost b&w.

I must say that Steve's Gherkin has produced some nice work. Well done everyone.

Hope they've got insurance!

Didn't think I would manage it this week! I was struggling for an idea, and every one I came up with, one of you pipped me! You are so fast! So many good solutions.

Well GKB, as they say, back to Steve's book. Everytime I pop it open, I get reinspired and find the things that look complicated, are actually simpler, or at least I hope to prove that as I go through the Chap. 10 examples. Just wrapping my head around this pen tool and those lovely bezier curves/handles.

Steve, I think I'm gonna have to invest in your 3rd edition . . . Good Schtuff!!!
