Re: Challenge 285: Aargh! Perspective!
Hi Steve, Thanks for your valuable comments. This was indeed a tricky challenge. I agree, in retrospect, that the locker door would open above, rather than behind the bench. The geometry of the locker cabinet's protrusion from the wall seems contradictory. The ceiling line clearly shows projection, but the floor line does not. In reality the cabinet does not extend to the floor, it's bottom edge concealed by the bench, masking the true perspective. However, I would disagree with your suggestion that there is no gap between the bench and locker cabinet. Were this the case, the vents below the locker doors would reflect on the bench. And, the subtle shadow on the floor indicates there is a gap, albeit only a few inches, between them. This one truly caught me off guard! But it was fun! _________________ Lonnie |

I got lazy with the reflection - life circumstances are impinging upon my fun time. The intention was to have the pen fall out of the locker, knocking Tiger to the floor. A couple of attempts with motion blur just created a weird looking shadow, so I nixed it. Your solution to have him hold it didn't occur to me. On to new worlds, new images. _________________ Onward and upward! Excelsior! |
