The parallax on the sky really does help Michael. Poor fellow looks a bit desperate. Reminds of my son when he was first learning to swim.

Re: Challenge 982: Pick up a penguin
A couple months ago, I wanted to see what AI was all about. I uploaded a vector image I had done for my cousin, of his wife, a strikingly beautiful lady. Fed it into imgtoimg and proceeded to play with the options. After many attempts, it produced an image that was similar to the vector drawing. I then tried the realistic options. After many attempts, it gave me 2 images that were rather close to what I wanted. I cut the 2 images up and spliced them together to get the image on the right.

I suppose AI is as intimidating to the Photoshopper as the Photoshopper was to the painter a spell back...but...I believe we can all benefit from each other. I still enjoy chopping away with all the tools available. i hope AI enjoys it as much as I do...lol.

I did an AI image of 1 of my doodle images though. The AI must have been horny so I won't post that.

Re: Challenge 982: Pick up a penguin
First to dive into the penguin pool this week was DavidMac, with a splendid homage to the old advertisement. I like how you’ve matched the rubber ring and snorkel perfectly. Splendid. I like the DeVito penguin in the Batman entry – very elegantly achieved with all the right accoutrements. The more I look at this one, the more perfect it appears. And… Fission Chips? As you say, an awful lot of work for a groanworthy pun! Cute, though. I’m not sure the Venezuelan giraffes are entirely on-topic.

A standard cheat for lwc's gliding penguin to be chopped off at the feet – a controversial image, as it turns out, with both DavidMac and Michael Sinclair weighing in with their observations. I like the snowmobile entry, especially enjoying the slight bounce of the penguins on the roof, as well as the way the background moves in perspective. Smooth motion with no jumps at the join! Well done. Does the steampunk entry count as an entry? I suppose it does, even though it displays all the somewhat soulless hallmarks we now associate with AI images. And as David says: it’s almost a caricature of steampunk. As, indeed, is exemplified by the steampunk giraffe. I do like the running towards the camera entry – perfectly executed. Disappointed not to see the trebuchet fire, though, however long I wait.

No explanation of why Born2Run spent time in Antarctica, but of course we have to believe the photographic evidence… and those penguins do fit neatly into the scene. Welcome back, Chris.

A surfing dream from dwindt, with our penguin riding a seal – and I like the artfully turned flipper. Good to see the full daydream too. And that’s a great queue for the cliff – penguins turned lemmings. I like the lens flare.

An idyllic sunset from Ben Boardman, with the penguins flocking onto the beach. I like he arrangement, and sense of distance. Is it just me, or does the one nearest us have a rock under its arm? The Ice Bar looks like a fun meeting place – I like how you’ve made the walls translucent.

Caption time for Ant Snell – is this an early Christmas card? I like the added hat and scarf. And those dangling icicle things are pretty.

I was going to compliment michael sinclair on his strolling penguin, but of course this is video rather than animation… and the background is moving rather faster than his waddling feet would suggest. The quick version works rather better. (But Michael: take a look at Loyd's entry for a good example of how to move in perspective. Note the different speeds of the background, mid and foreground.) I enjoyed the diving entry, although, the bubble trails could perhaps be animated. The flying entry is cute, and good work on those background clouds!

A touch of politics from Frank, and it’s a well-crafted message – particularly the excessive lighting on the billboard. Good work, well conceived and executed. An extraordinary animated tabletop – how was that achieved? But note the correct address for the Vimeo.

Thanks Steve, there was that many lights on that billboard, I just lit them up.
The animated tabletop was done in a program "PhotoVibrance" and when I saw that picture of the tabletop I decided to give it a go - duly noted the Vimeo address (I sometimes have trouble with that)

I am delighted Steve. To be honest, although I has fun, I felt a bit lost with this one.

I’m not sure the Venezuelan giraffes are entirely on-topic.

They arose out Gordon's giraffe jokes which I found very gentle and amusing. Can we perhaps say tangential to topic?

Thanks Steve.

Ha... I gave that some serious thought but just didn't have the time and energy to do all of the required work.

Thanks Steve...!
