It seems that Anna and I were on the same wavelength.

Works here OK. Very sweet Sara. Nicely done.

Re: Challenge 764: Up, up and away
First to take to the skies this week was lwc, with an ingenious animation - and a thoughtfully rebuilt background. What’s Giles holding? A phone? Nicely done. The dust and rotor in the second entry are highly convincing - really impressive. And I was very amused by the ecologically sound third entry! Delighted at the way you respond to reader suggestions, but in the fourth entry abut in the fourth entry shouldn’t the shadow move in a different direction, and at a different speed, to the chopper? Good to see the birds up to full flight power in the fifth entry. And a really funny sixth entry.

A clever entry from DavidMac, bringing in the shot of Giles from the earlier Challenge. The real work here, though, has gone into closing the door - and moving Sarah to the side. Expertly achieved, David; although your shadows do suggest a variety of lighting positions. I like the landing solution in the second entry.

A party-themed chopper from tooquilos, rather attractively decorated - and that’s an endless wine box Giles has there. Great rotor movement in the animated version; and the refilling wine glasses theme is ingenious and nicely implemented. The destruction of my mural at the end is absolutely brilliant - great choice of background!

A very static flying chopper from GKB, which leads me to assume a very fast shutter speed (either that, or complete engine failure). What’s happened to Sarah? Good to see everything spinning in the animated version; the angle to take-off, and the coming together of the chopper and the shadow as it lands, are thoroughly convincing. I do wonder about the rotor speed, though. Aha! The second entry fixes it perfectly. Spot on.

A three-framer from michael sinclair, with Giles dangling from the chopper - and in a change of clothes. I like the spin of the tail rotor, and the occlusion of the view through the cockpit. Has Sarah bailed out?

Perfect rearrangement from Mariner, selfies at the ready - and Giles neatly holding Sarah in place. And good to see a Bond villain at the controls. Excellent.

A terrific silhouette from Eva Roth, full of drama. I like how the wine box ties it in to the original image.

A touch of the Vermeers from srawland, the helicopter just visible through the open window. A hilarious animated version - thats a great stream of wine, and I really like the detail of the shadow passing over the woman’s dress.

A lot of reminiscence and discussion this week, which I have found both entertaining and illuminating.

An interesting comment by Ben Mills, suggesting that the Friday Challenge is the wrong place for this sort of digression. This Forum is about Photoshop, of course, but it’s also a place where members should feel free to discuss issues relevant to the theme. And this week’s debate has certainly encouraged image improvement and modification.

I don’t think Loyd would have produced his final images, or Gordon added a speeded-up rotor, without the nudges; and I don’t think those suggestions would have been put forward if it hadn’t been for the spirit of free-ranging reminiscence and camaraderie that the relaxed atmosphere of the Forum generates.

Let the discussions continue!

It’s working ok now Sara.

Thanks Steve. If Giles was to move to one side you see Sarah sitting behind him

Yes they do. I kept re-positioning them but found myself somehow chasing my own tail in circles. Hoped it would slip past ..........

Thanks Steve,

Yes, the shadow should move differently, but to do that required way too much effort from lazy me.

thanks, Steve. You're right, the wine box does the trick.. however, the helicopter needed thorough remodeling, too...
