Frank. I recognise some of those mermaids. I did a mermaid image last year and did the same image searches you must have done. I find that researching the right material is often as much fun as creating the image. There are some seriously weird things and people out there and mermaid searching definitely popped up few oddities One of things I stumbled across was a movie called "The Lure" - described as "The best comedy horror musical about mermaids ever made". Must be a tough field to compete in .............. ![]() _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Re: Challenge 826: The desert island
Well done everyone. What an interesting and entertaining challenge. Thank you Steve. That is a real compliment and I appreciate the kind words. For the split water, I raised the island into position. Cut it out and paste it in place. I used the original background of the sea and changed the ground level by playing with perspective. The sea ripple became very small so I cut off the fore most sea edge from the original non manipulated image and fused it with the manipulated sea, to simulate a closer water surface and bigger ripple. I found a suitable sea floor with caustic reflections on the ground, cut an edge between the above and below surface. I then used a series of Ron's waterline brushes to paint the water separation line. Edit - "defined pattern" of water line and embossed it with the texture of the defined water line. I finished it with a subtle drop shadow. Yes Steve, the Wired Sister's are 2 female models fused together with roots, stump, an old tree trunk and vegetation. The rock is the cap of the mushroom. There are 6 other rocks inserted down the trunk as fungi but they get lost in the diminished quality. _________________ The grass is greener on the other side of the fence because there is more $hit there. |

Thank you Steve. As per your suggestion I changed the ceiling to a wooden one, complete with rafters ![]() _________________ Wicked Witch of the West: I'm melting! I'm melting! |
