Contest 7: Virtual bodyshop
Hi Everyone, Woo! Friday 13th! Unlucky for some, but not for me - I'm still on holiday. So here's this week's contest, posted from beyond the pale... I spotted this grimy, taped-together motorbike in the street the other day, and thought it would be an interesting challenge to clean it up for the poor owner. Alternatively, of course, you may be able to find other uses for this rusting pile of scrap. Oh, and don't feel you have to leave it on this street. You'll find the high res file here, and those of you who really don't like using the Pen tool will be pleased to see I've already drawn the cutout path for you. Happy Photoshopping, as always Steve ![]() _________________ It must be Thursday, I never could get the hang of Thursdays |

Re: Contest 7: Virtual bodyshop
Ok I know that I am no bike enthusiast but I am having a bit of trouble working out which bits shouldn't be there. What exactly is the "glove" attachment to the handlebar (is that what it's called on a motorbike? ![]() I have a feeling that my attempt will not be that great ![]() xx |

I think they're handlebar attachments, couriers use them as it means they don't have to keep taking their gloves off. _________________ It must be Thursday, I never could get the hang of Thursdays |

Re: Contest 7: Virtual bodyshop
Ok, here is my rather simple attempt. Got alot on in the next week so didnt know if I would have time to spend longer on it. Also, as I have no idea about bikes, I have (hopefully) hidden alot of my confusion about which bits belong where behind a semi-clan woman (seems to work in the national media, so why not here ![]() Things are really quiet round here, there are usually far more attempts already posted before I ever get round to it, are we all missing Steve that much?? Wait... I just saw some tumble weed pass over the board ![]() ![]() |

Yes, I was starting to wonder whether the eerie silence was due to Steve's absence.... Good image by the way! _________________ It must be Thursday, I never could get the hang of Thursdays |

Oh, forgot to add - If you were wondering about the Christmas scene; No I am not going completly out of my mind, it was the only semi-clan female I could find that sat comfortably in the saddle (so to say!), and it seemed a shame to take off her little santa hat ![]() |

That was quite a difficult image to work from what with all the tape etc. But I hope I've brought it back to showroom condition ![]() ![]() |

I am unable to see any new posts. After trying to reupload my entry, I am told that it already exists on the server. If that is so, how came I can't see it? Any help would be appreciated. Personal email response may be required, because I can't view any new posts. raymardo@raymardo.com _________________ Sometimes you have to stand in your neighbor's backyard to get a good view of your own. raymardo |

I'm going to write it here as well as sending you a personal email, Raymardo just in case others have the same problem: Try disconnecting from your dial-up, deleting all cookies in your Browser, clear your browser's History and any Internet files, and then reconnect to your dial-up. All new info on the forum should then have been refreshed. If your using Internet Explorer click "Tools" on the menu bar and select "Internet Options..." In the "General" tab find where it says "Temporary Internet files" Click on both the "Delete Cookies" and "Delete Files" buttons and then where it says "History" click the "Clear History" button. In Opera7 it's File/Delete Private Data and check all the checkboxes and click okay |

Re: Contest 7: Virtual bodyshop
Well, that was obviously a tricky challenge! Were you all on holiday, or did the subject matter not appeal to most of you? The entries that did come in, however, were of top quality. Tabitha, that's a really great montage you've done there! getting the girl to set precisely on the bike like that must have been a real struggle, but you've done it perfectly - the perspective and angle of view are just right. If I were a curmudgeonly soul I might wonder why the wing mirror is attached to her left nipple, but I'm far too polite to mention it. Great extras - the masthead, the barcode, good background location! A great entry, too, from raymardo, with a fine wintry background and some neat bodywork on the bike. But just look at all those extras - smoke from the exhaust, show on the front wheel, the wing mirrors and the saddle, the wheel lodged in the snow as well... and the stack of cracked ice next to the bike. I've said this many times, but it remains true: the devil really is in the detail. I just love montages you can keep looking at and keep seeing more in. And finally, a fine classical approach from maiden - as you say, you really have brought this bike back to showroom condition. I know this isn't your usual approach - maybe you just weren't inspired by the subject - but every now and again it does us good to leave our satirical hats off, and just concentrate on the mechanics of a good Photoshop job. This bike really sparkles! If I really have to make a criticism - and, you know, I just can't resist - it's that the angle of the reflected exhaust is wrong there. No, forget I said that, it's a lovely image. |

Have you not heard of the latest piercing craze? Its very popular amoung the Harley Chicks! It means they can see over their own shoulder. Comes in a range of colours too, if yr interested? ![]() In honesty, I really didnt notice it. I was too involved in lighting the headlight and trimming her bum to fit on the seat. Shows that you have to concentrate on every little detail. ![]() It was fun to do, I just wish I had more time to make it more Magazine like. Anyone want any kids?? Going cheap LOL |
