Contest 79: Bring him to life
I'm sorry to say that when I photographed this doubtless eminent chap outside All Souls Church in London, I couldn't find a plaque telling me who he was. But there's no mention of him on the church's website either, so perhaps he's just a vagrant who leant against the wall for so long that he fossilised. Whoever he may be, he's clearly been suffering the attentions of incontinent pigeons for far too long. In the book, we talk about turning a man into a statue; but can you reverse the process and you bring this man back to life? Not an easy challenge, I expect. High res is here. ![]() |

Re: Contest 79: Bring him to life
I have not had a lot of time to "cheat" lately but since I like this type of work I decided to put in my two cents worth. I did not have the time to put a church in the background as I had pictured. ![]() _________________ -Never met a PS'er I didn't like- Will Rogers |

Personally .. I think he might be a vagrant as he seems to have been for a rumage in the nearby clothing bin in Tesco's carpark. Gotta hand it to the fella that is one striking piece of knitwear! ![]() ![]() |

Use http://www.imageshack.us/ to host it for free and you can have files 1024kb. But if you want to upload to this forum then reduce the image dimensions down a bit or increase the JPG compression when you save or a combination of both. |

mr.pbody, Photoshop's Save for Web dialog can help you, found under the File menu. Just choose the optimized tab at the top, and on the right, play with the quality slider. You will see image size details change at the bottom of your image. Go just low enough to where you don't see any inherent loss of quality or jpeg artifacts. (A quality of 60 worked for me) Also, you can scale or image down by using the image size tab on the right (which can also help reduce your file sizes) ![]() |

Here's our senator, on cold night in Rome, standing in front of Fontana di Trevi. He's having his picture taken with a camera of the old type. Lighting conditions aren't that good and the result is grainy. ![]() _________________ In general, never generalize |
