Contest 244: Another grave business
I had to do another graveyard montage for a newspaper last week, and it put me in mind of this shot of a broken grave I photographed a few months back. How did this come about? And, more importantly, what happened next?

High res is here.

I have to admit I've cheated with this image. The original looked like this:

Just ignore me if you wish. Its my birthday today;

You know: this is not a good subject. For example, China hate death stuff . I can do the Chinese and English, but it is not for me to explain.

For me, do you want to see my father's grave? You can have it if you want, but I will need to blank out some names.

Troubled Trevor

Just a thought: an empty grave doesn't necessarily mean vampires and zombies. You could also do something about resurrection. It is Good Friday after all.

Also: Happy Birthday, Jota!

Trust Nick to set the bar to a high standard, great start! Very atmospheric. And Ben I do like your Lara Croft making a cameo, very clever.

Steve, do you mind me asking where that photo was taken and if you noticed any dates on any of the grave markers? Purely from a historical point of view; I have an interest in things like that.

Oh and Happy Birthday Trevor!

Nick,

I'm not sure I know this style. Caravaggio is my first hero for my painting. I do my paintings that way.

Also love Degas too and many other artistst. My own too

Just Trevor

Some days the older residents would just sit around discussing the untidy state of the graveyard.

Re: Contest 244: Another grave business
Happy Birthday Trevor!! I hope you have/had a lovely time with your friends and family!!

As some of you know, I’ve been having my bathroom renovated. It’s been plagued with one disaster after another. On the home stretch now. At the tiling stage. This tiler, however, has given me no end of grief.

Each day, for the last 12 days, he has given me an excuse as to why he has to leave after an hour of arriving. He has tiled 7 rows during these 12 days. I finally gave him his marching orders yesterday, after he promised me he would work but called up to say it was his mother's birthday and he couldn’t make it (he did not know this a year ago or even the day before??).

So hence, my inspiration for this week’s challenge. Lets call it an “alternate ending” for G – the Tiler. Wish fulfilment…fantasy….it certainly satisfies the “Id” LOL

Anna,
Sorry to hear about your contractor troubles.
It's people like your tile guy that give the trades a bad name.
Excellent work by the way as well as everyone else.

There's nothing like playing fetch with your best friend, even if you have to give your left arm to do it!
