Contest 247: Spinning Columbus
Another image from my Barcelona trip. It was the home of Christopher Columbus, and there's a rather fine statue of him on a magnificently decorated column. The trouble is, when I photographed it, in order to get the column well lit I had to take the shot from behind. Your Challenge is to find another image of Columbus, and place it on the statue facing towards us. It should, of course, match both the perspective of the scene and the existing material as closely as possible. And please - for the sake of modesty - NO statues of me!!! High res is here. ![]() |

Re: Contest 247: Spinning Columbus
Hi Josephine. I was worried that the message within the image would be lost and that seems to be the case. In the high res TIFF original you can see clearly that the pigeon is carrying a takeaway bag with a motif of the Taj Mahal on it. Now, we all know what happens after a good vindaloo and Christopher is directing the pigeon to nice clean Nelson, who's all scrubbed up following his restoration. After all, old Chris does seem to have had his fair share of s*** to contend with. I could have made the bird bigger, but he would have appeared to be too far in front of the statues. Nick |

Re: Contest 247: Spinning Columbus
Thanks, Stefan. It started as a pure whim, and I was fortunate to find an image with the proper gesture. _________________ Is it necessary? Does it work? |
