Contest 249: Damien's iMac
I was commissioned to do a rather interesting job a couple of weeks ago, and thought you might like to have a go at it.

It was for a magazine feature about buying contemporary art online, and the idea was to show a computer in a glass case in the style of Damien Hirst, the British artist best known for his early work that involved sawing animals in half and pickling them in formaldehyde. So the task was to cut the computer in half and place it in a case.

This is the starting image I used (although I didn't use the speakers). It turned out to be a tricky and very interesting job. Feel like having a go? I'll post my version next Friday, for the sake of completeness.

high res is here.

Hi! Steve Hi everyone!
I'm new at this,Too love PS and about the book of you write,But my PS is not very good.(I'm come from China and my English is not very well.)
Don't laugh me if the sentence or the world is wrong.Pointed out that the wrong way.Thank you very much!

I think my image is too simple, and want to add something. For example, glass.but I don't know how can I make it.

By the way, can you tall me where is not good for my image. The color or the image is too simple or seems not really.etc.
Thank you!

Welcome, and don't worry about your English, we would be totally lost with Chinese. You will learn English, but we will never get a grip on Chinese.

Thanks a lot. Agree. But in the text he was signed "China Boy" in his his first post, hence I added "子" (probably not quite appropriate), but just "China" as user name, so "子" not needed

Buy an Imac and a hacksaw and cut it in half and drop it into a fish tank and then take a photo

Thank you Celia. I thought of filling the tank up with formaldehyde but then I thoughT "No, that's a terrible thing to do to an iMAC."
Very nice, Becky.
