Challenge 373: I've been waiting for you, Mr Bond
I was at a wood fair last weekend and was intrigued by this steam-powered machine that turns logs into planks. It reminded me of the scene in Goldfinger where James Bond is strapped onto a table, a laser burning ever closer.

Except, of course, that this image has been shot outdoors, there's no Goldfinger and no Bond. How can we make this benign machine look more sinister? You animators might even consider making the wheels spin.

High res is here.

I'm dazed and amazed at the spectacles you attend/witness or happen to fall upon and capture for our exquisite challenges. It looks quite sinister enough as it is! Is this wonderful contraption assembled, dismantled and transported to similar fairs and, I wonder what it's history is.

Hi Anna, I could not see your video post this time... "Sorry, you do not have permission to watch this private video". Did you upset the censors, or probably just me. Not sure what happened there or if others have same problem?

Hi Sophie, I've photo from Dorset Steam Fair with same sort of thing only driven by steam traction engine...., sorry only cutting planks, not 007. (damn my cover maybe blow for my entry(??).
You should see some of the other other v.BIG toys. There is one thing to bring traction engines, but to bring and lay a Pacific Class steam locomotive from the back of your +38t trailer, that's some train spotting! No comment. Sorry just a sidetrack , back soon hopefully with my brief based entry....

When the Centre for High Energy Particle Physics had a problem splitting the atom they called in Fred Dibnah to help.
