Challenge 377: Play my harp
I was in Paris for a couple of days this week, and visited the Musée Carnavalet. It's an extraordinary series of rooms, each decorated in the style of a particular period in Paris's history.

The trouble is, none of the rooms have people in them, so they all appear rather sterile. Do you think you can populate this room with appropriate figures? And how might you set about adding a harpist?

High res is here.

Very nice Josephine, very convincing! If you could just get those reflections in the mirror then it would be spot on!

“Does anybody know a good source for images of people? Thanks!”

That is a good question Artwel. I would like to know also.
The brief calls for figures to be added.

I tend to always observe copyright laws and not use unauthorized images (for example - Googled images).

When I am working professionally I never use images in breach of copyright - however for personal fun stuff such as this Google is my friend

Re: Challenge 377: Play my harp
With a little research today, I found this beautiful painting by Michel Garnier - The music lesson [1788]
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Michel_Garnier_harp.jpg

There are so many striking similarities with Steve’s source image.
It certainly gives one a greater insight into a period of history long ago.

Hmmmm. . . . now off to Photoshop Land.

This is a very quick render so I know it is not perfect (perspective and focussing on Chico for two!). 'Fraid I am in foreign climes and there is no more time this week. Look forward to seeing everyone's entries.

.

Very well constructed Nick. I had a critique but you are right I think, maybe. Just a question if you don't mind me saying: head/body size,, but not sure at the moment..........

Interesting insight/education for me Bruce. Thx

Josephine, beautiful.

Gordon, looks very good to me.

Ben, works well for me and on the brief

Michael, off topic yes (guilty myself often as we do), but very subtle your message, if I am right......
