Challenge 378: Upon reflection
Every now and then I like to throw a small technical challenge at you, just to make sure you're all still paying attention. This one combines two of your favourite subjects, perspective and reflections (note the heavy irony).

I passed this supermarket recently, and was struck by the way the name reflected in the angled glass canopy. Here, however, I've covered the relevant part of the canopy with a sheet of plywood.

Can you remove the plywood and glaze it once again? I think I've left enough visible canopy either side for you to get a reasonable idea of how it all should look.

I'll post the original next week.

High res is here.

I 'think' it would look something like this? Looking forward to the answer next week!

You can't do that here. This is London.

I didn't like that thing that looks like a falling building in the upper left corner. What is it, anyway?

Nice works folks, great to see many taking on a difficult challenge, (well I thought it was, and not sure my solution of course).
Especially also like the extra actions and content.
Oops I ran out of time, especially to add any extra creative content : , which enjoy with creative interest

Re: Challenge 378: Upon reflection
Well, I have found this challenge really difficult. I have struggled all week to make a vaguely acceptable canopy. I am ultra-impressed by the other entries and their excellent canopies (hints and tips on how you achieved it would be nice!). On top of that my husband thought I had lost the plot when he saw me lying on the floor yesterday with a magazine and a mirror trying to work out what the reflection would be like! And I am not sure it helped at all.
This is my best shot

Re: Challenge 378: Upon reflection
Puffin, Angela; easiest way to get the angles for the green bits right is draw vertical lines following the paths of the ones which you CAN see, where they join is your vanishing point. All the 'hidden' green bars should line up to the same point. Copying and pasting the bars and using free transform to 'tilt' them to the correct angle also works.. if that makes any sense!.

As for the reflection, I got confused also, trying to work out the time of day and angle of the sun didn't help !

Re: Challenge 378: Upon reflection
Hi Artwell
Thanks for that. I drew horizontal lines so that I could line up the top and the green bar but didn't make any verticals. I did have a lot of trouble finding a nice clean bar to copy and then transforming them also gave me grief. I think I simply need more practice...

Thank you Artwel, enjoyed the video. Would that be in After Effects? I keep trying but just can't get into it (After Effects)
