Challenge 381: You, Robot
I went to an interesting exhibition of robotics last weekend, and was struck by the lengths the inventors went to in order to anthropomorphise the robots - they were nearly all human in shape, and those that gathered the biggest crowds were the ones with the most childlike faces, such as this one.

This robot was posed sitting in a chair, apparently reading a brochure. What would it take to make it look even more human? You can build on what's already there, but you must leave room for the original robot beneath whatever skin you choose to add.

High res is here.

Thanks Doug,
I won't have time during the week so this is it. Had to do it quickly as I've got a hot (chips) date tonight

Impressive Gordon !!! Congrats !!! That picture in the background is a Sorayama's original or it's from your creation, too ?

Re: Challenge 381: You, Robot
Thank you both!

Paulo - the picture in the background was found on the web and seemed to fit with my idea of a robot pin-up for a robot teenager. It certainly looks like it could be a Sorayama creation but there was no artist's name associated with the image.

Gordon

To those members of the forum I had the pleasure off meeting at the Christmas dinner, I do offer my sincere thanks for a most enjoyable and entertaining evening, it is truly gratifying to have made your acquaintance. To yourself's and all forum members. A merry Xmas and happy new year.

Anna and Vibeke, your appearance was unexpected and a pleasing surprise, if I sounded idiotic, that would be just about normal. Do enjoy the festive season.

James.

Great stuff folks!

I love the the C3PO one but how did he manage it?

In the words of Dave Lister in Red Dwarf:

"He's a bit like Action Man in that department. Plastic underpants and a trademark."

Anyway, here's mine. The original robot's face made me think of Mickey immediately so I had to go with it:

Yeah I know, it's been about half a year since Photoshop montages were my thing, but here's mine! And ignore the silly typo.

I appreciate the comments, James and Anna. It's just as fun now as it was when I started.
