Challenge 387: A royal plunge
St James's Palace, London, was built by Henry VIII and has a distinguished pedigree - it's where Charles I spent his last night before his execution, it was a barracks for Oliver Cromwell, and was the home of the Queen Mother. Today, it's the official London residence of Princess Anne. She doesn't spend much time there, perhaps because it's so lacking in facilities. I thought it would be rather generous of us to build her a swimming pool in the courtyard - and there's ample room for a diving board on that balcony. Care to oblige? High res is here. ![]() |

One can get carried away with such challenges, doesn’t one think? yar ![]() Inspired by the Barclays adds. I have been impressed with the animated entries over the last few weeks; can anyone tell me what application was used to do these? Extended addition of Photoshop perhaps (sadly I am not that well off!). ![]() |

Ant you can do some basic animations in photoshop (window>animation) you can save/export as a GIF or Quicktime MOV. Or try Adobe After Effects? Try the free 30 day Trials on Adobe's website http://www.adobe.com/downloads/ _________________ “Art Is Never Finished, Only Abandoned.” |

What version of PS do you have Ant? I only have PS7 but it has an animation package cunningly tucked away (it was literally years before I found it ) _________________ I'm not really bad - I just draw that way |

Absolutely stunning lighting Nick ![]() The Queen and Prince Philip were bursting with pride watching their only daughter, Anne practice her newly developed sport, Horse Diving. It has been recognised and endorsed by the IOC and will make its global debut at the London Olympics this year. http://vimeo.com/35791995 ![]() _________________ Wicked Witch of the West: I'm melting! Re: Challenge 387: A royal plunge
Hi Tony, I do the majority of my animating in PS. From time to time when there is a need I bring everything into After Effects and animate in there. Thats just an added bonus. You can achieve amazing results (if you look at James's work) purely with PS alone. Anna ![]() _________________ Wicked Witch of the West: I'm melting! I'm melting! |

Re: Challenge 387: A royal plunge
Thanks to all who replied to my enquiry about the animations that are getting posted. Josephine you were certainly right when you say it is cunningly tucked away, I have CS5 and had no idea you could do animation with it. I YouTubed it and sure enough there it is under Window > Animation. Can’t wait until next week now. Cheers ![]() ![]() ![]() |
