Challenge 394: A touch of frost
I woke up to a very frosty morning a few weeks ago, and was struck by the intricate texture the frost made on the table outside my house - particularly around the knot hole (I would have taken the table back to the manufacturer when the knot fell out, but as I made it myself I had no-one to complain to).

The frost looked like - well, what did it look like? Give me your best guess and I'll show you all next week. The photo here is one I took a couple of hours later, after the frost had thawed.

Of course, this being the Forum, I don't expect any of you to limit yourselves to just adding frost...

High res is here.

Fortunately I had just enough time to actually attach the image!

Re: Challenge 394: A touch of frost
Realising that the last two weeks I have somewhat side stepped the challenge by opting for a fun montage rather than attempting the technical challenge Steve set for us, guilt took hold this week - so here is my attempt at creating a frosty look.
PS. GKB I was just about to upload my attempt when I noticed the very close resemblance with your idea (I didn’t copy, honest) it just goes to show great minds thin alike! I might have to have another go now though.

Not on brief, but with spring on the way I wanted to leave the frost behind on table top mountain.

Brrr!

My attempt is probably woefully inaccurate but it looks pretty!

Nothing special here. Just an attempt at frost.

The star is one of my backyard bird seed thieves that I photographed during a snowy frosty day. He loves good hiding spots to consume his booty. Excellent challenge Steve.
