Challenge 413: That sporting event
There was a suggestion in the forums that this week's banner, by Tooquilos, might get me into trouble for using the Olympic logo. Well, that's a risk I'm willing to take, it's a good banner.

It's true, though, that the Olympic Committee is chasing anyone who uses the rings, or even mentions the Olympics, for commercial purposes. There was even a case last week of a shopkeeper who prosecuted and fined a total of nearly £20,000 for selling "fake" Olympic merchandise - which he'd recently bought along with the shop itself, as part of its stock.

So what I'm looking for this week is a way to cunningly conceal the Olympic rings within an image - hiding them in plain sight, you might say. It might take the form of five bracelets, or five wine glass stains on a table - it's up to you how you approach this one.

Can you be subtle enough to avoid the wrath of the Olympic Committee?

No starting image this week - it's all up to you.

And a load of other do's and dont's. Basically you can do anything if it's non commercial.

I heard that you cannot use words together, such as, London and 2012. I didn't realise somebody could own a date. Maybe Iwill decide to own Christmas day and enforce a tax on it's usage!

People are complaining about travel to the games, but Boris and his merry men have invested a considerable amount of cash on our London tube network to cater for the millions expected to visit the site over the next couple of weeks. Sadly some stations have had to go and others have been amalgamated, but the enhancements made to the Victoria, Northern, Central, Circle and District lines will provide a much better service overall. You will see that there is a direct link from Tufnell Park on the Northern Line, which should suit some of the North London contingent if they want to visit. Not very cunning, but the best I could think of.

Nice one Nick! Would that be the circle-line x5, one up on the Large Hadron Collider. Higgs might be waiting on the platform for a collision together with Brian Cox! But I see it is sorted .... "change here for continents .... mind the gaps, subductions, rifts..and some drift..."

Steve thanks for going with Anna's banner. On my part respect you for that. But doubt they know anything about what we do and no personal gain by all of us here (adverts etc), I'll say no more...

Joking. Maybe now with this FC "we'll go down with this ship" (Dido - White Flag). But we won't for all the reasons e.g. mentioned before by Anna and Artwell now.

Here's my entry, tiny bit rushed as I've been busy with my new hobby (started ballet lessons)
5 rings to rule them all?

If Mark Cavendish MBE can ride this thing then he deserves a gold!
Wasn't the opening ceremony just brilliant? I loved the ring foundry and raising those rings into the air.

Thanks Anna -- trying to stay within the scope of the challenge -- the pic is a composite of three pictures and many layers -- the players face is Mike Lenzly who has now been cleared to play after an injury- I truly enjoyed your entry and wondered how you come up with so many splendid ideas - nice work as always
