Challenge 419: The movie sign
A technical challenge this week, just to hone your skills. I went to the movies the other day - it was called The Bourne Yesterday, or something along those lines. Anyway, outside the cinema was a sign on the wall telling visitors that this was, indeed, the way to the cinema. The original sign had an icon on it showing its purpose. That's the easy part. The hard part is that the side of the sign was made of polished chrome - I've made it blue here simply for ease of selection. Can you imagine how the real thing might have looked? And more than that, can you reproduce it? It's not easy. High res is here. I'll post the original next week. ![]() |

Sjef that looks great!, if only you could shift the heineken logo a bit to the right then this would be totally believable ![]() _________________ Quote of the day.. "Photoshop isn't really meant to be used for drawing".. |

Thanks Artwel. Yes, I know. But I decided to do a quick-one because of less time this week. I didn't know about any film-sign, maybe it's typically a British item. So it got this result. |

Hi Patrick! I like your signature. I decided to get round the reflective chrome issue by making my sign in bakelite ![]() ![]() _________________ I'm not really bad - I just draw that way |

Steve, what the best way to make reflect? I'm not sure what I did is good. ![]() |

The Biennial Hotchips Charity Dart's Extravaganzo-Magnifique get's off to a slow start.. (partly due to the fact that the dart board is made of some sort of heavy duty perspex, and because there was a free bar). Is Steve's binge drinking becoming a problem?.. http://photobucket.com/PSART ![]() _________________ Quote of the day.. "Photoshop isn't really meant to be used for drawing".. |

The reflections were making me nuts, so I "brushed" the chrome........... ![]() ![]() _________________ "Imagination, not invention, is the supreme master of art........" Joseph Conrad |
