Challenge 421: The diving suit
I was introduced to the Carmagnolle diving suit by Josephine Harvatt, in a Friday Challenge a few weeks ago. Built in 1882, it was the first human-shaped atmospheric diving suit, and only one was ever built. The joints never worked, and it proved not to be completely watertight. Today, that suit sits in a corner of a museum in Paris, where it's sorely in need of a polish. Can you restore it to its original brassy glory, giving it a bit of a shine?
