Challenge 487: The Japanese garden
I've just returned from an astonishing five days in Tokyo, which must be the weirdest city on earth. Hugely entertaining and utterly bizarre.

In a rare moment of calm I came across this city-centre park, in which one of the ponds has apparently been drained for maintenance work. Can you fill it up with water again? And remember, the Japanese do like their koi carp.

High res is here.

Nice one, Michael. My ducks ate all the fish.

Thanks Nic, it's a combination of a couple of my own photos from The Japanese gardens here.

Re: Challenge 487: The Japanese garden
Gordon, thanks for your tip on correcting B&W images using Image > Adjustments > Black & White. It's very difficult to select that bush on the RHS using anything else. Dragging the yellow slider to the far left darkens the bush a lot. Dragging the red slider a bit to the right brightens the background. If you now choose Select > Color Range and drag the fuzziness slider a bit you can get a good mask.

Re: Challenge 487: The Japanese garden
I thought dropping the background in would be relatively straightforward but then I had to make up my mind on how much of it to bring into the picture to get the proportions looking right. Couldn't decide how large the people in the foreground should be either. They were much smaller at first. Still unsure but if I don't submit now I will continue to fiddle with it until the end of the week!

Bother - I have just noticed that I have missed part of the fence in front of the two distant girls. I have corrected it but will resubmit later in case I spot any other errors!
