Challenge 512: The Friday Challenge Amnesty
This week marks the 10th anniversary of the Friday Challenge, which posed its first puzzler on 2nd July 2004. Sadly, a move to a different server means most of the entries for that Challenge have now gone the way of all websites, although the original image still remains. I'm indebted to Deborah Morley for coming up with this week's Challenge idea: a global amnesty. She reckons there's always at least one Challenge everyone thinks they should have entered but missed, or which they did enter but feel they could have done better. So now's your chance to revisit any Challenge from the last 10 years, and show us what you can do. Note: please provide a link to the original Challenge in your entry, so I can remind myself of the original image and entries! Have fun with this one. |

Actually I've found a couple fun things ... although time really is an issue this week. One thing Steve - Going back through all these entries - some are more expert and some are less so, but you've attracted an amazing amount of genuine effort and some really stunning work to your forum! Terrific! I am so impressed.  |

Steve - I decided to just go with the original image -- as you know I just joined a couple of years ago after tackling PS with the help of your books; the Fri Challenge has certainly been fun and informative and the forum certainly has some talented folks ; Congratulations on this milestone and thanks for your help and patience: You said to have fun with this one so here's one of my favorite characters :

I feel that all of my submissions could have been improved one way or another. However, Challenge #503 "Fill the fountain" (Original image:http://www.howtocheatinphotoshop.com/cgi-bin/simpleforum_files/attachments/fountainFilledMask3a.jpg) was the one challenge I felt I really could have done better. Specifically, it wasn't actually a fountain but a pool. Here it is with a spray. I have also included 4 elements from past challenges. It was very interesting going back and looking at the previous challenges. There is a lot of information that can be learned from them. Next weekend I will be in Duluth, Minnesota U.S. for the celebration of my mother's 85th and my Aunt's 90th birthdays. I don't know if I will be able to complete next week's challenge. And, worse, I might not even get to look at the critique for this week until Monday because I have to be at San Jose Minetta Airport at 4:30 AM.

While I didn't actually miss the "Creative female builder" Challenge, the magazine wasn't my original idea. The image below was. When I told my sister my idea, she said it was sexist and suggested I come up with something else. I worked hard at making that magazine look realistic, but it used words to tell how Kim was a creative female builder, instead of showing it. I did put this in the Reader's gallery but it really deserved being here.  _________________ I'm still learning. |

David- it appears there are two spellings for this word , one with a single "p" and another with two "p"s. ???? |

Challenge 439: A sense of scale I used up the week fiddling with an abstract of the muddy field. I finally gave up and found the boat, so I wanted to transform it into a jungle, but alas, it was too late. I found the original picture with a single rough-cut boat layer, so I had fun with the jungle.  _________________ Is it necessary? Does it work? |

This is Challenge 508 Oslo Lighthouse. I had this image of 'Tenacious', a photo I took when we were in port. After several tedious hours cutting the netting out I realised I would never have time to cut it all out and find an appropriate background to go with the lighthouse.  |
