Challenge 519: Build a better chimera
According to classical mythology, a Chimera was a beast composed of part lion, part snake and part goat.

But despite there having been many depictions of it throughout history, none seem to have combined the various elements in a plausible manner. Here, for example, is an Etruscan example from 400BC:

The snake works well as the lion's tail, but the goat always seems uncomfortably grafted on. Can you find a way to combine a lion, a goat and a snake in a more appealing configuration? You'll need to source your own wildlife this week.

I'd never heard of this creature, but it could resemble the Pushmi-pullyu.

As in all the previous years, the Satyr got drunk and passed out before the group photo could be taken.

Thanks Anna. To tell you the truth, the image creeps me out a little bit...which is a good thing?

Re: Challenge 519: Build a better chimera
I decised if I could create a dryad, I should try for a naiad. I'm not sure she works. She's on the ground because water seeks it's level.

This whole challenge has made me have some great memories of when I was 6 years old and my dad read to me The Greek Myths by Robert Graves for my bedtime stories. I should add that my father had an IQ of 168. Dr. Seuss was not on his reading list. I don't know exactly why he chose The Greek Myths for bedtime stories, but I surmise it was because while Graves' prose is excellent, his scholarship is lacking and therefore, in my father's mind, the book was suitable only for children.

Of course it's a good thing! It's meant to be bizarre
