Challenge 662: Back seat driver
I visited a classic car show some weeks ago, where I was struck (not literally) by a number of very interesting vehicles. In particular, I was impressed with the way the boot/trunk of this two-seater opens to become a pair of extra seats, complete with wind shield. Can you put the car on the road, complete with driver and passengers? No apologies for the tricky angle. This could be a job for Fuse. High res is here. ![]() |

Yet another car! I am beginning to think that Steve is a bit of a petrol head. Can anyone give us a clue about make and model? |

Re: Challenge 662: Back seat driver
I have just spent a fruitless hour trying to source rear views of drivers and passengers without their heads hidden by headrests. The very few I have found don't even begin to match the hideous perspective of this photo. So I then had the idea of putting it on a trailer or hitched to a tow truck, so I didn't need a driver, but there the same problem became even more severe to the point of being seemingly insuperable. The obvious solution is to do something completely off brief and just quite simply have fun with it. However, given that my interest in motor vehicles is rather less than Donald Trump's in revealing his tax returns, fun becomes a rather lukewarm term. So, for the first time ever, I am simply bowing out this week for lack of sufficient motivation. I shall be watching with great interest and fascination to see how those smarter and less wimpish than I handle this one ......... _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

David take it from an old pro like me, this is the time to "bloom" and do a masterpiece . I agree with you that this week's challenge is going to put people off; besides, we all have our "off-days" and this is Steve's ![]() ![]() ![]() |

They don't have to be drivers! You can find a good selection of people from behind here. |

Re: Challenge 662: Back seat driver
David, Steve has gone back to using that cheap wide-angle camera he won on a coconut shy. It makes rebuilding the end of the car a bit tricky! To say the least. |

I didn't want to make it too easy for you. You had your fun last week, this time it's a bit tougher. |

Re: Challenge 662: Back seat driver
Yes of course I use Mr CutOut all the time. And yes of course I had thought of taking non driver back views and rebuilding arms and hands to fit the steering wheel and trying to distort them subtly to fit the perspective ............ a lot of work to little end. Some you like ... some you don't ..... for me this one's all headache and no joy ....... and joy is what I do these for ....... So sorry I am still going to be a wimp. Unless some cunning wheeze pops unbidden into my head ...... _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Re: Challenge 662: Back seat driver
David, I think Steve wanted you to put the passengers in the Triumph. That would have been a much more dramatic image. ![]() |
