Challenge 666: The number of the beast
We only get one shot at this number, so let's make it count. Your task is to illustrate the devil, using whatever sources and inspiration comes to mind. No starting image this week, not even a photo of Potus... you're on your own. Note: I'm off on my hols this afternoon, spending two weeks in the tiny French village of Courant, which is about 15 minutes from the charming town of St Jean d'Angely, which is itself half an hour from the beautiful port of La Rochelle. The ever-reliable David Asch will be posting the next two Challenges for me, and I'll write them all up on my return. I may check in every now and again on my iPad, so have fun while I'm away. |

All SO French it's like a caricature ............. looks lovely. And the chance to pop down into the Bordeaux wine region for a few nice bottles .......... _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

The Devil has many faceless faces.
As pointed out last week, only very simple quickies (if anything) from me until Christmas.

I dug out the old family bible to photograph the verse which refers to the number of the beast/666 and directly beneath that paragraph I noticed reference is made to ‘144,000 having the father’s name written on their foreheads’ Normally I would not had taken much notice of this, however I have just finished reading Helter Skelter by Vincent Bugliosi, the prosecutor for the Charles Manson case - and found it coincidentally interesting that Manson had referred to this particular phrase as his basis for Helter Skelter. I had always thought the Manson murders were random killings but apparently not..he had a system, a method, and he used the bible as his “guide”. A bit of a reworking of any earlier Challenge, but enjoyed doing it. Frightening thing when I had to be weighed recently I was 66.6 and the nurse said "Oh, the devil." How right she turned out to be...  |
