Challenge 674: The rector's desk
I spent last weekend in the fabulous town of Dubrovnik, in Croatia - a perfect walled city that has never been breached or invaded, and so every building and battlement is intact. You'll be glad to hear I took my proper camera with me, so expect a number of Challenges from there over the coming weeks. Here's the desk in the Rector's palace, with a particularly fine oil lamp on the right, complete with hanging snuffer and wick trimmers. Can you light the lamp, and get rid of the sign? You might have to find your own rector. High res is here. ![]() |

William Ward Fowler - not a rector but friends with one so maybe he borrowed his desk? Got rid of the feather because he said it tickled ![]() _________________ I'm not really bad - I just draw that way |

Re: Challenge 674: The rector's desk
Desperately needed a quick break from packing and stacking boxes. So took a couple of hours out for a quickie. This is the kind of challenge I love. Playing with lighting. Strangely, however, I am rather dissatisfied with this. Not sure why ....... but something doesn't quite 'gel' for me ..... ![]() ![]() _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

The bent flames are a bit distracting - maybe its that - but otherwise it looks pitch perfect to me _________________ I'm not really bad - I just draw that way |

Michael Sinclair, that is truly frightening. Frank, That's really lovely! Trevor, I love Game of Thrones, however, I am always behind on it because I don't have HBO and have to wait until the local library obtains the DVD and wait my turn in line to view it. DavidMac, I love the feel of it. I think it's just perfect. Tom - I love it! Gordon, I love how you put his reported last words on the sign. Really, Ben, don't you think she's a little overdressed? ![]() Josephine, He fits perfectly in that chair. Did you know who he was before you created the image. I had to Google him. Vibeke and Ant - I'm sure there's a good story as to why you chose the image you did. Unfortunately, I am an ignorant American and I don't get the joke. _________________ I'm still learning. |

Re: Challenge 674: The rector's desk
Accessories make the outfit. Unfortunately, Photoshop really limits how you can transform objects in timeline animations. My still image came directly from one of the frames. Also unfortunate, is the fact that Mixamo doesn't have a reading animation. This one was the closest I could come. My explanation is that he's got a bad back and can't sit still for long. I was trying to make my Fuse character look wizened. However, this was the best I could do. I think Anna is back next week. Sorry for such a pitiful animation: http://vimeo.com/236854682 ![]() _________________ I'm still learning. |

Re: Challenge 674: The rector's desk
Thank you Sarah. I don't think your animation is that bad -- he obviously had a little too much out of the wine canter and can't stay awake. I think you're doing fine. Michael -very nice and a lot of work! |
