Challenge 773: The bird box
One day this summer I visited Puy du Fou, an astonishing historical theme park near Nantes, in France (and you'll be seeing some more from here in the weeks to come). I was rather taken by this dove enclosure, and the fact that some of the bird boxes were vacant. Can you think of any suitable occupants for these desirable residential locations? Interesting place. I had never heard of it or the show. Like many historical theme parks it doesn't look too strong on history. I have yet to be convinced that the Vikings had high explosives ...... btw - your foreground grasses and lily pads were perfect for the 'moat' WC. |

Steve I have a question. The more I look at this the more it puzzles me. My first reaction was that there was a much bigger bird perched above the boxes. The beam upon which it is perched appears to be in about the same plane as the front of the boxes. However the more I look at this the more I wonder if in fact it is much closer to camera and the bird is in fact the same size as the others. On closer inspection I have decided it is the latter. The bird is in front of the big ceiling beam suggesting that the beam upon which it is perched is in fact quite slim and close. It is interesting that the classic 'railway tracks' perspective and not knowing the true relative size of the foreground beam together with its alignment with the top of the boxes has produced a kind of anomaly which deceived me into perceiving it as further back.
