Challenge 774: Batman begins
GKB has alerted me to the fact that it's Batman's 80th birthday, having made his debut in Detective Comics #27 in 1939.

There have been many incarnations of the caped crusader, but the one that resonates most for me is the portrayal by Adam West in the 1960s.

Here he is. Can you show how the years might have taken their toll?

High res is here.

Didn’t think you would kick this one off so quickly, Steve. Unfortunately can’t come out to play as I won’t be home until after next Friday.

Y’all have fun with this one

Re: Challenge 774: Batman begins
If he was first active in 1939 he must have been born some thirty years or more beforehand. That would make him over one hundred and ten years old ...........

That's a great skit Loyd! Very funny. Is aged Robin, Alan Napier? the original butler?

David, I like the way you have aged him. The jowls, particularly, are very realistic.

Good one Anna... the 'hanging bats' are perfect.

Yes... and no, Anna. Over the years many speculations and innuendos have been made about the relationship of Robin and Alfred the butler. As Robin aged his resemblance to Alfred became much stronger. Only recent DNA testing has been able to provide conclusively, the truth... Robin was in fact the illegitimate son of one Alfred Thaddeus Crane Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne's loyal butler.

This snap from the set clearly illustrates that resemblance...

The role of Kathy Kane (original Batwoman) was portrayed by an actress known only as "Hillary". Referred to by cast and crew as "Shebat".

It's just on bedtime here and I saw your reply and initially I was amazed..wow, I didn't know Alfred was Robin's father. Then thought ok, DNA can't be wrong..and then it hit me..hang on a minute... they aren't real people hahahaha. Good one Loyd !

Re: Challenge 774: Batman begins
You are the first one to age him gracefully Ava. Looks better and tougher than he did in the original.
