Challenge 863: A watery fate
I visited Embassy Gardens last weekend, a recently built apartment block opposite the new US embassy in West London. It consists of two separate buildings, with a glass swimming pool stretching between them.

I'm sure the engineers have done their homework, but… what would happen if the pool structure sprang a leak?

High res is here.

This is much harder than it looks at first sight.

Not sure what to do with it ........ so gone straight into disaster movie mode.

Good one David...!

Based on your entry, I've renamed mine to... 'Moments Before'

Anyone who has seen John Carpenter's seminal and seriously bizarre 1974 science fiction movie "Dark Star" will recognise where this idea comes from.

Nice David and Lloyd. Glad i'm involved in this challenge. After last weeks space cadet challenge, the grey matter is a bit lob-sided.

Should a hole in the pool develop, and the belly down skinny dipping swimmer's name was Hans Brinker, would it be strange to have an earthworm protruding through the hole in the pool?

I hope it's not in Florida.

I caught a glimpse of this on the news the other week. Didn't realise it was in London as the volume was down. Fascinating concept....

Re: Challenge 863: A watery fate
Is this another "Moments Before" Loyd?

Re: Challenge 863: A watery fate
It does look like another "Moments Before" David, but I'm not sure that I have a follow up for it... btw- "Uh-oh" was the original working title for my first entry.

This one is 'Shattered Glass'.

Re: Challenge 863: A watery fate
Thanks Michael... yes, this week's challenge of "sprang a leak" is somewhat limiting.

This bit of silliness is... QUICK FIX

Re: Challenge 863: A watery fate
Funny you should post that. Here is the view from my window seven floors up this morning. I've got leaks coming through my ceiling.

Re: Challenge 863: A watery fate
Bad luck David, I hope they get that under control in short order.

It did give me another idea however, and I had to make it.

I decided to go for an urban oasis look. Seems we were on a similar track, Loyd
Good luck with the leak David. What a job this poor man has!

I remade the pool in 3D but I'm not convinced it looks acceptable....

Re: Challenge 863: A watery fate
Loyd and Anna great work But David has to take the Gold star here for his stunning realism--lot of work there David! I hope the site owner will be equally and suitably impressed

Just a quickie this week
