Challenge 883: Malta at war
The island of Malta played a significant role in the Allies' retaking of Sicily in 1943. It was from this base in the Lascaris War Rooms that General Eisenhower oversaw the proceedings.

How might this room have looked while planning Allied invasion?

High res is here.

You'll have to find your own Eisenhower.

Re: Challenge 883: Malta at war
Found myself strangely uninspired by this one. So very literal minded and not terribly exciting.

Wish I could work like that when uninspired, Great work David.

Thank you Vibeke. Playing with light and shade is something that comes naturally to me and is sometimes a 'soft' way out when I'm stumped for more creative ideas.

Good work, David, given an uninspiring subject. I nearly binned this one, but finally decided to give it a drastic makeover.

It's another one of those weeks when one has to grab hold of David's lapels and shout exemplary! into his face: the atmosphere is perfect, and it always cheers me up when I see "good" work.

Nice work from last week Michael

Listen! can you hear that? the air-raid siren has sounded! And can you hear that loud rumble overhead....oh no

Thank you, Michael. Isn't it time the bomb hit the bunker?

Thank you Michael.

I think this war room is supposed to be buried deep enough to withstand bombing .......... at the time at least ........

Gosh! It’s been so long since I have use Photoshop, I had almost forgotten how to use it. A bit of a rooky effort I am afraid but hopefully I might start and get some time back to start and a regular contributor again.

Good to see you back again!

And a very clever and amusing use of the image.

I struggled with this one. The video will reveal what they used the room for

Bloody hell, David! that's brilliant!
Great to see you back, Ant. Hope all is well.
Michael, great demolition job! Expected no less
Loyd, it looks like a still from a movie.

Well done with the people Loyd. I found them surprisingly difficult to source.
