Challenge 987: Google on fire
This building in progress is to be Google's new London headquarters. Described as a "horizontal skyscraper", it's a long, jointed construction that snakes its way right down to King's Cross Station.

There are decorated hoardings in place while the building works are completed. I was particularly intrigued by the small hatch at the bottom of the orange panel, though; here it is in full:

What sort of firefighters could make use of a tiny door like that?

High res is here.

You're way ahead of me Frank. Already in progress when you posted.

This is not very inspired. I wanted to do more with the big image but they end up just too small.

Back to the drawing board .................

Agree David, I tried the same but just too small for the larger image so I moved on.
Nevertheless your small excerpt looks good.

Size is an issue with this challenge but I hope to have something completed soon.

Is he relieving himself or expressing an opinion on Google?

Re: Challenge 987: Google on fire
This challenge carries some interesting (and for many of us I suspect unexpected) problems of scale as anything small enough to fit through the door becomes very tiny in the overall image.

I shall be very interested to see what you all come up with.

Agree David - here's my effort:(having discarded the gnomes) - still chuckling at Loyd's.

Thanks David and Frank... like Frank, I immediately though of gnomes for the door, you nailed it David.

Google found the dog for me... so let's not say that he has opinion regarding Google...lol.

The scale presents a daunting task indeed, I doubt that I can come up with anything else that makes any sense at all.

Great one Gordon - well done - takes care of that little door. Topped off with a little chuckle at the end.

Thanks Frank. I enjoyed the silliness of this one.

We were on a similar wave length, Gordon. Good one!

Re: Challenge 987: Google on fire
Gordon, not sure why, but I find it works much better as an animation!

It's great fun! ....... but I am finding it difficult to shrink the building in my mind to lego scale .... otherwise the legos are child sized.

Anna same fun and same difficulty applies. It's great but I can't quite make the adaptation of scale needed.

But that's not your neat ideas. It's my horrible literal minded streak won't let go!

This one is much tricker than it seems.

Don't know why but this one has really got me bugged. Silly of me. So, in the end, apart from using Steve's image, I've just cheated and gone off brief.

Thanks David, Anna and Frank.

David, I agree that it works much better as an animation but I felt that I wanted to post a still image as an intro to the animation.

The scaling issue was quite real but in the end I slightly enlarged the little door and used up all of this week’s supply of artistic license; have no fear, though, I have ordered lots more for delivery next Friday 🤣
