Challenge 1076: Opening the pavilion
The Pavilion Fleuriau in La Rochelle is a neat if somewhat over-engineered shelter in a public park alongside the shoreline. I think its only purpose is to give strollers a chance to sit down in the shade.

What I'd like you to do is to remove the rear wall, so the cupola is held up only by a ring of columns. Of course, what you choose to put in it afterwards is entirely up to you.

High res is here.

Have you got those plans upside down again, Jack? I am sure the columns should go in first, then you put the roof on!

'Quickies' are quite popular these days, so here's one from me.

Steve,
In case you’re wondering, the support for the canopy is inside the spiral upright. It’s not so magical that the canopy can support itself 🤣🤣

LA ROCHELLE CITIZENS PUZZLED BY NEW POSTER ANNOUNCING THE RENOVATION OF THE SEAFRONT PAVILLON FLEURIAU.

Instead of using the well known Photoshop guru, who owns a house in the town, the penny pinching Park Authority decided to create the poster themselves using a free AI image service. Seems you get what you pay for. (Need to enlarge).

For those who may not know in which European country La Rochelle is situated, I have placed some subtle clues in the image.

The first thing I thought of with this challenge was a carousel. I didn't realise that Gordon had beat me to it. As they say, Gordon, something about great minds etc hahaha.

The timing of Samhain in the northern hemisphere gives a deeper meaning to your image, Ben. Beautiful.

Thanks Anna
I do like your carousel. Glad you hadn’t seen mine as it might have put you off doing your own.
I was going to use a conventional 3D carnival horse but couldn’t find anything other than 3D scans.. Then I thought of carnival ducks.
Nice work from everyone again

Quack!

Thanks Anna, I had originally planned a Halloween theme but my research indicated that the spiritual Samhain far superceded the commercial- let them eat sugar event of Halloween.
Love the Carousel, also a long tradition.

Re: Challenge 1076: Opening the pavilion
Splendid carousel Anna. I had never heard of Samhain. Had to look it up.

Tired of the French coast our Pavilion has emigrated to America in search of excitement. Seduced by the glitz and glamour of Vegas, he has had a dome makeover and found a new home in the famous Caesar's Palace pool complex.

This was supposed to be a simple quickie but, to my surprise, trying to get it to blend in was much harder than I anticipated.

I thought I had checked the distance, but obviously not well enough. I am going through some very tricky eye problems at present and can't resolve fine details. Hopefully mostly gone in a few weeks.

So, yes, now I know she is there I can just about pick her out in your original post.
