Challenge 1078: The organ recital
It's now common practice in the UK for mainline rail stations to feature pianos for the use of passengers, and I've heard (and participated in) a number of recitals while travelling. But I was surprised to hear, and then discover, this pipe organ hidden away behind a wall on London Bridge station.

Surely there's a better location for such a splendid instrument?

High res is here.

That is truly bizarre ......... and courageous (or foolhardy) to expose such a fine looking instrument to public use.

I am away in Paris all next week so (together with preparations) unlikely to have time to participate.

Pity, it looks fun.

That works Ant!

Just squeezed this in. This is a very basic rush job as I have no more time this week. Such a splendid instrument deserves an appropriate player.

Paris, David. Business or pleasure? A trip to the Louvre perhaps.

You guessed!! Off to see my fence.

No, my son is competing there in the veterans class of the world judo championships and we are going as a family, Ingrid and I from here and his brother from Germany, to cheer him on.

We have also booked for the Fondation Louis Vuitton so we will get to see the recent challenge venue first hand.

The forecast is for lots of rain so we may have to give the gardens and Sunflower a miss.

Ben it's interesting to see how more and more you are bringing lighting to the fore in your submissions. This so simple and so effective.

Great, David. Bon voyage. Gute Reise. When I was 20 I got to blue belt. Wish I still could.

We started both our sons at four years old. They had a free rein at home and we wanted them to learn something that involved extreme discipline.

Both loved it. Both got black belts while young. One in his mid teens in London (the one who is competing now) and the other while at university in Japan. He was the only European in a Japanese Dojo but because his Judo training in England had been in a traditional Japanese style and because he was learning to speak Japanese he was accepted. His name is Ken and the word exists in Japanese. When he qualified the Japanese club members had a black belt specially embroidered with the kanji for Ken and presented it to him.

If you approach it right, travel is so wonderful!

Morticia looks at home. Beautifully fitted, David. Have fun in Paris and take an umbrella.
Gorgeous lighting, Ben.
