Challenge 1094: Apartments for sale
I passed this curious building site last weekend, where the core of the building (presumably containing the lift shaft and stairs) has been completed, but nothing else so far. And yet the builders have seen fit to place this sign atop the stack:

It all seems a bit anticipatory to me. Unless they're planning to build a show apartment right at the top, before adding the rest of the floors below it. Or perhaps they have something altogether in mind?

Can you show me?

High res is here.

Great tip, Peter, great tip! This old island will make a fantastic 18-30s holiday resort.

Well that's a good start from everyone!

Seems your rocket is classified Gordon. Before Vimeo would let me see it I had to go though age verification with government ID and photographs!! Seriously! I'm not kidding .......

I love the subtle shaking of the buildings.

In order to appease Trump, Tehran gives planning permission for the new Trump Tehran Tower - but with just a single room at the top

I had no idea how to pull this off. The item that struck me straight away was the streetlight in the enlarged version of the brief image. It reminded me off a flying vehicle and that's what I tried to replicate. So retro steampunk it is. It wasn't an easy task and I have no intention of attempting to expand the image into the full brief size.

I really like this Dennis. Some really good perspective matching.

I kept wondering where you could possibly have found a diner photographed from so far below. Then I thought "Hang on a minute ..... this is Dennis! He must have done it from a 3D model."

Fortunately the crane contractor's insurance paid off and they finished the apartments only one year behind the original schedule.

Hi Ben. My question was for Dennis' Blue Diner in his steam punk submission.

Yours always struck me as entirely plausible but his seemed improbable in terms of finding a source image.

By the way, yours are both incredibly clean work!

Thank you David.

Yes, I use as many 3D models as I do photo manipulation. I Photoshop 3D models to, depending on my desired outcome.

The perspective works nicely in this view, as the remainer of the image isn't present. To sit convincingly in the desired brief image, I would have to redo the whole tower.

I had no intention of doing the brief image, as I knew it would be a great deal of work and I'm in the middle of a 3D challenge...but I do like a good challenge, especially with perspective. This one required a great deal of Photoshopping to get the desired scene.

Re: Challenge 1094: Apartments for sale
Paddington Green is right next to the new Trillium tower block, very close to the Marylebone flyover in London W2,

"Pretty Polly Perkins of Paddington Green"
is the title of an English song, composed by the London music hall and first published in 1864.

It is a ballad about a milkman’s unrequited love for a pretty young girl.

The chorus goes like this:

“She was as beautiful as a butterfly and proud as a Queen
Was pretty little Polly Perkins of Paddington Green“
