Contest 8: Camera obscura
A couple of months ago I bought myself a new digital camera - a shiny Canon EOS 300D, which takes great pictures. Sadly, this means I've had to pension off my old Nikon Coolpix, despite the trusty work it's done for me over the years. Can anyone think of a new use for this old camera? Or, perhaps, find a way to enhance its feature set? You'll find a high res version of the camera here. I've already drawn the clipping path for you. Have fun! ![]() |

Forget ebay. Go old school. Pawn it!!!! Everything was hand drawn and scanned into Photoshop. Colored and painted there. Atomicfrog, I like the ebay one. raymardo ![]() _________________ Sometimes you have to stand in your neighbor's backyard to get a good view of your own. raymardo |

Some good ideas with what to do with your Nikon Coolpix but I thought something more practical and homely would suit you. ***image reposted below in later post for sake of camparison*** |

Seems that this isn't the first time that Steve has tried to flog the Coolpix. Looking through one of my Photographic history books I came across this... ![]() ![]() |

Re: Contest 8: Camera obscura
Tabitha, Nice job on making that picture look aged. Did you make the frame, or is it a photograph? Either way, your entry is entertaining, original, and put together very well. raymardo _________________ Sometimes you have to stand in your neighbor's backyard to get a good view of your own. raymardo |

Re: Contest 8: Camera obscura
Many Thanks Raymardo. The frame is indeed a composite of a couple of images, I do not have the skill or talent to be able to create images from scratch. Unfortunatly my drawing skills are something to be desired, even though I did win a painting competition when I was 5, "Stickman in Park"... That is my greatest achievment to date ![]() |

Re: Contest 8: Camera obscura
Scary! That's exactly what the back of my head looks like (or so I'm told, never seen it myself). About to start sweeping for hidden microcameras now. Excuse my while I huddle into a little ball and start whimpering under my desk... |

Re: Contest 8: Camera obscura
Haha it was actually just a Googled web image and I just used the Smudge Tool at different sizes to add few bits of sticky-up hair and that natural perm you have. I also used a method of setting the Brush tool to 5-20% white and painting in Color Dodge blending mode to lighten some of the darker areas of hair detail in the model's hair and switching to 5-20% black in Darken mode to darken that awful bleached highlights in the hair. |
