Hey Amy welcome to the forum. And straight in with a Friday challenge post on this devilishy difficult task. Nice job Amy.

Mr P body I feel theres a relationship between Jimi, drugs and this image!
Great shadows on the table and it looks like that photo filter worked well.

Thought I would have some fun with this. Sorry for the really low res Doolittle book but all I could find was a low res book cover on Amazon.

Hello Mr. Pbody.
I liked your purple haze glass.

I didn't know one could make semi-transparent selections with quickmask, untill I got Steve's book.
I used varying shades of gray moving in and out of quickmask to see the effect.
After dragging the glass to the image, I duplicated it and changed the top layer to multiply mode.
A photofilter adjustment layer provided the color red.
Merged visible on glass layers.
Levels, dodge/burn.

Steve really should have given us a coaster; oh well, it's not my table.

The table badly needed some polishing. I hope it won't be damaged by the glass.

Welcome to the forum lawrenceging. I hope you enjoy the company of very experienced creative people with whom to share your thoughts, ideas, queries and pictures. I must say I have learned so much from seeing other people's work and also have them explain how it was achieved. Steve's weekly comments on the Friday Challenge are always positive and constructive. Enjoy.

First post, thought I would join in on the fun -- you can never have too much practice. I won't be able to do every Friday Challenge, but I would like to participate when possible. This looks like a friendly and talented group.

This was hard. I want to work on the image more, but I've run out of time. This is the best I can do.

Re: Contest 82: Put the glass on the table
I am looking forward to tomorrow's critiques! This was by far the hardest one I have done, and I know Steve will have lots to say.
Where should that shadow be? What should the reflections in the glass look like??

I hope that we get a sample of this one! It was really tough. I would have liked to have a different shadow from my glass to reflect the light and transparency from the glass but couldn't figure out what to do.

My motto: If you can't dazzle them with your very limited Photoshop talent, then distract them with lots of other crap.
