Challenge 380: A la recherche de Proust perdu
Another photograph from my recent visit to the Carnavalet museum in Paris, where I found this interesting exhibit - a reconstruction of the bedroom where Marcel Proust dreamt up (ha ha) his best-known work, A la Recherche de Temps Perdu (Remembrance of Things Past).

It's all very well to assemble the bed, chair bedside table and other pieces of furniture, but there's no sense that anyone lives here. Maybe if the bed were unmade? Perhaps Proust himself asleep in it? Let's see what you can do to breathe some life into this scene.

High res is here.

You always come up with wonderful and challenging ideas Steve.
Yet again, I may fail to take part. Been working towards a full OFSTED inspection which starts this coming Monday. By the time I see forum friends at the Hotchips party on Friday 9th, it will all be over!

Here we see Marcel Proust who is working from his bedroom at home. He is interviewing girls from the local employment agency as he desperately searches for a new secretary to replace the temp. he lost when she walked out to get a proper job in a real office.

Way before Marcel Proust wrote in Search of Lost Time, he had inspired an underground movement called "Derelicte`". It was during that time that the, now popular concept, of "Floordrobes" evolved.

As many young teenage boys have discovered, a wardrobe in a bedroom is a superfluous expense and causes unnecessary clutter. My own son was a staunch disciple of this movement for many years. It all came to an abrupt halt when I stormed in his bedroom and anything that was not where it should be made its way to the tip.

So, Anna, that was where Tracy Emin got the idea from!

Meanwhile little Marcel frets over whether he has remembered to put everything he wants on Santa's list ...

Great entries so far, well done, I thought I'd sneak in one of my landscapes while I was messing with this one.

Re: Challenge 380: A la recherche de Proust perdu
In the early days time was something that Marcel never worried about until, one day, he started to lose it. It was then that he started his search for the correct time............

Thanks, Josephine! I have to admit it was easier to go monochrome than to try and colour the BW picture I found of Proust.
