Challenge 402: The ghost bus
It was a miserable, rainy day in London yesterday, and I was on my way to a press event just off Trafalgar Square when I saw this bus parked by the side of the road.

It does ghost tours of London's haunted and gruesome historic sights, and there are little lamps on the tables and curtains in the windows. Of course, it would look a lot better at night, when it's lit up and heading off down a deserted street.

Can you oblige? High res is here.

Is that a montage of Stan? He was a driver not a conductor. Anyway he's holding a TIM ticket machine I think, but an odd one at that. It has no dial to choose the ticket price. Maybe that machine is for a fixed fee use. I seem to remember Town & District Bus Company using Setright machines or possible a Gibson (from London Transport) machine in the films.

Although as he's now a ghost he may belong to another company

Hi Paul,

You caught me out! I couldn't find a full length picture of Stan so thought it would be a good idea to pop a head onto a conductor, but now you mention it, he wasn't a conducter at all....was he?
I might have got away with it but I wasn't expecting such an expert on ticket machines to be in the forum. I can just about remember the Blackpool tram conductors with the ticket machines shouting "All on board, room on top!". I also remember Olive in the side car but sadly couldn't find a picture.
