Challenge 495: The flea market
I spent last weekend in Paris, and on Sunday morning we went to the flea market at the Porte de Clignancourt. Well, it used to be a flea market: these days, it specialises in grossly over-priced antiques and other tat. I was particularly amused by this concept:

Anyway, on my wanderings we stopped and had a coffee overlooking this splendid building. It seemed to me that it belonged more in the Caribbean than on an urban French street: can you oblige?

High res is here.

Oh, and for those of you who feel like a real challenge: here's the bin in the bathroom of our hotel. It's made of chrome. I've covered up the chrome surface; how might it have reflected that floor?

This is a really difficult thing to work out, which is why I've posted it as a supplementary Challenge this week. Don't feel under any obligation to drive yourself crazy over it! High res, should you feel like giving it a go, is here.

I am ever so grateful to Steve for providing two challenges this week. I have not learned enough about Photoshop to attempt the second one as I have only just started Chapter 8 in the 6th edition, but here is my submission for the first challenge.

I think there’s something wrong with my internet connexion… I’ve been looking at James’s post for 5 minutes now, and still the lid hasn’t opened to let some beasty escape and play havoc in the bathroom…

Anyway, will deffintely try and submit a post this week. Very fond memories of Clignancourt in the early 70s when I was lucky enought to spent Easter hols just outside Paris with regular trips to the flea market.
