Challenge 708: On the porch
So here I am in New Orleans, having arrived last night. It's now 6am and, being 6 hours ahead, I've been awake for two hours. I haven't had a chance to go anywhere and photograph anything interesting yet, so here's the porch of the AirBnB place where I'm staying.

What wonders might I see if I take this porch downtown?

High res is here.

This one really was a quickie before I jumped into the car.

You just missed the Festival

I left New Orleans about 4 days before you arrived. Enjoy the city, stay out of the heat and maybe give the Hand Grenades a miss.

I'm limited to free video clips and there aren't that many of them to begin with let alone at the proper perspective. I hope this one isn't too boring for people.

Oh, and the last song is a variation on "When the Saints Go Marching In" which is the unofficial anthem of New Orleans.

Putting a peripatetic porch through its paces - a painted panelled and palisaded patio perambulates through a panoply of palpably peculiar panoramas on a particularly paradoxical and puzzling peregrination.

…….. and very nicely done too Sara!

Thanks David,

However, unlike previous submissions, there wasn't that much Photoshop in this one. Hopefully, I'll be able to use more Photoshop for the next Challenge.

Re: Challenge 708: On the porch
First to hit the French Quarter was GKB, with a scene of marching jazzmen. A fine cutout - I see you’ve taken the flowerbed with it - and a very raunchy angle for the porch. Perhaps a slight rotation to the left?

I like lwc's night scene - that’s a very nicely animated seagull. Those perspective clashes make me feel a little seasick, though. Love the animated hair in the second entry!

A rare selfie from DavidMac - just what is going on that requires such a solid screen? A good colour match, though, and the angles all work.

A knight to remember from michael sinclair, with some serious weather. No New Orleans connection as such, but a dramatic effect. I like the lighting. Very fine work in the second entry - and I note that you’re the first one this week to make use of the bench. Excellent animation, and I particularly like the hypnotised seagull.

Very strong work from Ben Boardman, who has matched the background perspective to that of the porch - impressive. I like the added Mardi Gras beads, and the tricentennial plaque. A very compelling image.

A cascading waterfall from srawland, and a very neat way of avoiding cutting out all those irritating railings. A remarkable second entry, combining filmed footage with special effects; a good choice of backgrounds, and fun transitions. Somewhat tenuous New Orleans connections, though!

A beautifully restored porch from Mariner, with nice straight verticals and a new railing - so cutting out the original defeated even you, eh? I think I’d have considered flipping the background horizontally, so the angle of the river bank more closely matches that of the porch.

I like Jota120's solo trumpeter, with the river scene behind. Simple, but very coherent.

There is no more picture of the girls and I below the level you see. I needed to hide that.

Whilst I would love to take credit for a much better entry than my own I don't think I should .........

Yes. Mariner. Sorry, I should have stated that properly in my previous disclaimer.
