Another one from the Cambridge Museum of Zoology: this rather fine tortoise.

The shell has been beautifully preserved, but the patient is on the critical list. Can you bring this critter back to life? I'll leave it to you to interpret that as you choose.

High res is here.

Re: Challenge 791: Tortoiseshell
I've started a new job, and am doing some volunteer graphics work, and to top it off I have a cold. I'm probably not going to have a submission this week again but will try to look in. This week's subject looks like an alligator snapping turtle. They are an endangered species that lives in the southeastern U.S. and grow to be 30 kilos or more (70 lbs).

David, your entry has...well...panache: very slick and professional, and I love it

Sara good luck in your new job ( which is what?). Sorry about the cold, but do people get colds in sunny California?

PS no entry yet, as the site owner has yet again chosen another mummified monstrosity

It's just plain silly Michael. Not exactly rocket science.

But I am glad you like it ..... so do I ..........

Yes, Ben, but doesn't it need a mock turtle soup to go with it?

The pie top is brilliant, Ben. Looks totally believable.

Re: Challenge 791: Tortoiseshell
For two frames that's surprisingly effective. The background obviously has limitations but the tortoises are great - although they must be the fastest on earth!!

Re: Challenge 791: Tortoiseshell
Unfortunately my PC decided to die a couple of weeks ago... So I thought I would try this one on my iPad Pro using the Photoshop App!
I’m really not impressed on how limited it is!!!

I actually had to think hard about uploading this one as I think it looks more like something that was done on MS Paint

Hopefully my PC will be fixed soon and I can redo it!

Re: Challenge 791: Tortoiseshell
David, love the perspective but not sure I'd want to be on that operating table -- a tortoise ride- quite unique
Ben - very clever
Michael - well done 2 framer
Anna - well done as usual
Chris - I believe I see a Steve Caplin under that mask
As for me I was very undecided where to go wth this:
